First thing, first.1. Many dont know that for this camera you can simply buy a Vantrue OBD cable (this is the link https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086BCXXS8?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details ) , just as I did to use it in Parking Mode , and to have the camera record (at night or when you want it to record for safety purposes). This cable is plugged into the OBD plug, and you have to check if this OBD cable will fit your car- make and model. I'll attach a picture of the plug and of the cable. SO, most people wont have to get a hardwired kit that requires a specialist to install it properly.2. You have to be willing to go into settings and customize them properly according to your needs ( turn on the Parking Mode if you have the OBD cable plugged in / or choose the settings for IR mode / looping recording speed -10FPS, 5FPS or 2 FPS, WDR / G sensor - in case you want the camera to react to a shock caused by impact to lock in the video of that incident / Exposure - bright or less bright - which allows more light into a video or less light / choose if you want it to record in parking mode even during daytime or not because you can simply stop recording to save space on SD card if you feel the area is safe ).3. This cam is between basic and advanced (so it's not for use on space shuttles), with a max storage of 64GB ,which means that you might want to choose a 5FPS recording speed to have more hours of recording on the SD card. Other dash cams that cost 300$ , will give you more settings, and storage space, but it's up to you how savvy you are with technology.Some people like them very simple or ....not too complicated. But then it's better to buy a Viper alarm from BestBuy and an Add-On named - Directed Electronics Install essentials Dual Zone Motion Sensor 508d - which is a Radar for motion detection , and have those installed by BestBuy in your car, to prevent theft if thats your main worry.4. I bought it for Parking Mode feature, to record at night, and I had to increase the Exposure to +3.I chose a rate of 5 FPS for loop recording. and a resolution of 1080 for the front cam (you have the option to use 720 if you want to use less space on the SD card , but the videos will be less crisp).5. I disabled the G sensor because I record continuously when driving or in parking mode,...and this way you wont have many random locked folders accumulated in time on your SD card. The G sensor can often lock a video simply because you hit a bump on the road....So, it's common sense that anyone will save a particular video right away if an accident happens. Or have another 64GB card handy in your car to replace the one used after an accident.6. I will update the review after a few months because I only had it for a few days.7. It recorded so far at night in Parking mode until next day around 4 PM, when I went to check the cam status.8. Then I realized I had forgotten to set up Loop recording, and other features that help to record for 39 hours continuously, if you dont use the 3rd camera also.9. When I checked the content of the SD card (using a card reader for micro SD) I found 3 folders named : 1, 2 , 3.Because Every camera will have a folder for the videos recorded simultaneously.The videos were good quality. The media could not be loaded. I got this last year during the black Friday event but only just installed it a few months ago. My brother installed it for me so he did a good job at hiding the wires as he has experience working on cars & running wires for stuff like this. If you know someone, I definitely recommend having them help you install it. The camera works great. I loved that this one had the rear camera as well. The only reason I didn't get it a 5 star, is because of the way the camera connects to the suction base. I added a photo & video. I really wish there was some sort of "locking" mechanism when you put the camera on the base. Instead you just line up that rectangle piece and slide the camera to the left. The problem with this is that while you're driving, the vibrations will cause the camera to move. It's slow but one it's moved out far enough, it falls off that base and the only thing that saves it from falling are the two wires plugged up. Since I've have it installed, it's fell off the base 3 times while I'm driving. If there were a way it locked on the base, this would be avoidable. I just had the whole thing (suction base as well) fall off the windshield. There was condensation under the suction pad so I just had to clean the area again to get it put back up there. It'd be best to just remember to clean under it every so often so it doesn't fall off while driving. So all in all it's a fantastic camera, there's a park & record option. I really liked that and it's part of the reason I got it in case I wanted to use that feature. There's another cable you need for your car in order to use that though, it's not included in the box. So again my only issue that I think the company should fix is a way to lock the camera in place when it's put on the base.
