My son bought this with his own money. He was so excited and has shown it off to everyone he meets. Everyone gives him lots of compliments and tells him how cool it is. So you can imagine his devastation when it stopped working less than 2 months after he bought it.First off, the one thing he hated about it before it broke was it doesn't stay closed. The top flops around a lot. It needs a magnet or clip to keep it closed. That didn't keep him from wearing it, but it was definitely annoying.At first we thought it was the battery. The battery is EXTREMELY difficult to replace and it takes a very odd battery. We had to order special ones just for this watch, and they're not cheap batteries. It then took minor surgery to get everything removed and get to the battery. After finally getting the battery replaced, it still was broken.The clock itself still works, but other parts of the screen do not. He's going to keep wearing it because of the cool other features, but he's so bummed that it doesn't work already. And to have spent money on those ridiculous batteries only for it to not fix the issue was aggravating.Be warned that if your child gets attached to this watch, they will be disappointed in just 2 short months.

I have bought other spy gear items for my 9 year old grandson but this has become his favorite. He wears it every day. Watch has a whistle, secret compartment for notes, telescoping lens, and mirror. The watch keeps accurate time and has a built in stop watch and alarm. This was a great buy....

Ordered this for my 5 year old nephew. He loves it. The whole kit was allot of fun and very entertaining.

Cheap made

My son absolutely LOVES this watch. At 5 1/2 he is into all things spy right now and this watch was an absolute delight to watch him open. However, within the first day the message capsules started to fall out and we were always in a hunt for one of them. After a week I've noticed that the hinge doesn't keep the top part completely closed anymore. The watch band also doesn't get tight enough for my son's wrist and he can slip the watch off over his hand.But even with all those negatives, he wears it daily and is completely enthralled with this watch. He loves all the gadgets (except the whistle because we didn't tell him about that feature) and wears it proudly. I even purchased another collection of spy items from this brand as a prize for something he's working toward. So sometimes quality isn't everything.
