Very nice video quality.
This is working just fine for me. I love the video high quality, with a nice wide angle. Have not had the chance to try it out at night yet, but during the day it is fine. With the CPL filter you can rotate it until you get the most glare reduction. The sound works fine too. I like the fact that the car power plug has a flip open back that allows a USB plug to be inserted at the same time to power another camera or charge something else like your phone. I have not tried the HDMI output. On the subject of the CPL filter, it changes the colors somewhat... between that and the built-in HDR, it brightens the colors like some sunglasses do. I also think that it might affect the night vision, so I will have to try that with and without the filter to see how much it affects it. The unit is powered with a USB to cigarette lighter power cable that I mentioned before. It can be plugged into the camera in two places. If you plug it directly into the camera, only the camera is powered. The unit has a built-in GPS sensor on the part that contains the mounting suction cup. If you plug the USB cable into that GPS part, it will power both the GPS sensor and the camera. With the GPS turned on, it will record your car's speed and GPS location at the lower right corner of every video in real-time. At first I thought I had to purchase a card reader to view/edit the data, but I have since found out that it will connect to a PC through a USB port and allow you to access the video card. I don't know why i could not get it to connect that way the first time I tried it. Glad I tried it again!

Very good Dash Cam for your money - records the license plate details very well
Very good dash cam. The videos taken shows clearly the license plates on cars at some distance when video recording is set to the highest settings (one of the highest currently on the market). However, keeping the highest video resolution setting reduces the overall recording time to somewhere between 2 and 3 hours with the default supplied 32GB micro-SD card. If something should happen, a short 30 second clip can be saved (or "locked") with the press of a button. When a video clip is "locked" it cannot be overwritten by the camera is the recording loop, meaning when the micro-SD card is full, the camera will automatically overwrite the oldest video files but not the "locked" files. The camera has many settings for every user to customize to their preference. This dash cam also accepts 64GB micro-SD cards whereas most cameras do not. Other standard features are parking mode (i.e. if the car is bumped into or something is moving on front of the camera - internal battery capacity is not big enough for long recordings though), auto-record ON/OFF, auto power off ON/OFF, video resolution (depending on how much details you want to capture compared to how many hours of recording needed), increase/decrease light intensity on recording, clock/date stamps, etc. Power cable is long enough to route around the windshield to the power outlet between the front seats. However, as with pretty much every product that comes with a suction cup mount for the windshield, it will come off every two to three months - usually when the weather is very hot.

Excellent picture but questionable reliability and craftsmanship
It's now been more than a week since I have been using this dashcam. It was really easy to set up. I fixed the mount on the passenger side of the windscreen, behind the rearview mirror so that my view is not affected. I routed the wire through the edge of the headliner to the A pillar on the passenger side, then tucked it into the A pillar cladding and finally, brought it down through the weather proofing on the passenger door. Then, under the floor mat it went to the 12V socket. Since my socket is an always-on type, I have put in a switched extension and use the switch to turn the camera on and off when I get in and out of the car.So far, the picture and sound has been really good for a camera in its price range. Daytime video is excellent and the CPL filter provided does a good job of eliminating any glares from the dash. Audio recording is also quite decent and it was really funny for my wife and I to listen to our conversation during the drive. However, I faced a problem yesterday. It was a really hot day here and temperatures in the shade were running at 94 degrees F. I forgot to turn off the camera when I left the car. When I returned 4-5 hours later, the camera was off. It refused to turn on. I tried pressing different buttons, but there was no response. The max. operating temperature of the camera is supposed to be 140 degrees F and I don't think it quite reached that level. Only a red indicator light was coming on. I had almost decided to return the camera, but at the last moment, I tried swapping out the data card. That did the trick and the camera turned on. But, when I inserted the problematic card in my computer, all videos until that morning were easily accessible. It was like there was no problem with the card. I have deducted one star just for that.Another point of concern is that the ball which holds the camera up to the mount is becoming looser by the day. I will watch this cam for reliability issues. I hope this was the last of my problems.UPDATE: Just a day after I wrote the review, the camera refused to work again. When I tried to put in a different card in order to replicate the solution that had worked earlier, the card slipped into a gap between the actual card slot and the edge of the opening in the camera body. I had never expected such an opening to be present, not to mention big enough to swallow a whole card. Needless to say, I am downgrading my rating to 2 stars and returning the camera. Buy at your own risk.

Good but not awesome.
I really do like this dash cam. The screen is enough to see without being overwhelming. I do like the fact that it attaches to the window quite easily and holds very well. I also like the fact that the power cord attaches at the bottom and does not interfere with any buttons. Now for things that have made this a 5 star, I wish that the screen would stay on all the time w options to turn it off and still record, it may be I did not read the instructions carefully enough to keep ot on all the time. Also the part that attaches to the camera (pivot part) is loose w no way to tighten it. The camera moves if just slightly touched. If it had been designed with the ball pivot a little bigger or a small screw in the side to tighten it I would have given this a 5 star. Overall I really enjoy this camera, just need to fix a couple of things.
