Savage primal grindcore in the true tradition of early Earache releases. Insect Warfare have become the flag bearers for the underground grind scene through a series of split releases and compilation appearances. 'World Extermination' is their crushing full length previously only available via underground channels, and now given a full release by Earache. 20 tracks the channel the spirit of early Terrorizer, Napalm Death and Nasum with devastating effect.

Grindcore like I like it
I only dabble in grindcore. There are so many variations and sounds and most of them aren't interesting to me. But Insect Warfare nail the sound that I like. Rawness to the production, death metal sound with short punchy songs. Variation in the vocals from deep to screechy - NO pig squeals. They mix grind's signature blast beats with thrashy sections which is a must to break up the monotony. A classic.

music like this is great in the car
Let's face it, music like this is great in the car, and you can't play a record in the car, and mp3s sound like excrement, therefore: Insect Warfare on CD. Perfect for rush hour.

TEXAS GRIND KINGS!!
WHAT A PERFECT GRIND ALBUM!! Killer drumming from veteran Dobber. Rajid is a beast of the mic. These songs are unrelenting and very inventive! I dig the clever compositions and unending brutality. When i received this album, it had a sticker on it that said, "The best grind album since Naplam Death's F.E.T.O." BOLD STATEMENT.......but true!

Short, fast, and loud, the way it oughta be...
Short, fast, and loud, the way it oughta be. This is no-frills grindcore at it's purest, never accessible or trendy. Insect Warfare (RIP) get in, make an unholy racket, and get out with 20 tracks in about 22 minutes, leaving you dazed yet hungry for more. The production here is better than in most grindcore records. The guitar and drums sound killer. Posers will have their faces melted by this record.

A total "Extermination"
The words "grindcore" and "one-dimensional" pretty much always go hand-in-hand with each other. In fact, it has even gotten to the point where saying the phrase "one-dimensional" in a grindcore review is almost implied, anymore. Some grindcore groups try to mask the use of constant anger by occasionally flirting with tidbits of texture (as Napalm Death did with "Smear Campaign"), melody (see Aborted's "Slaughter & Apparatus"), and/or a few slower-paced moments (i.e. Goatwhore's "Carving Out The Eyes Of God"). Still others try offsetting it with frequent tempo changes (The Dillinger Escape Plan's "Irony Is A Dead Scene"), and by fusing-in influences from various other genres (Anaal Nathrakh's "In The Constellation Of The Black Window"). But to their credit, some grinders blatantly and completely revel in one-dimensionality, and they constantly express their feelings of explosively livid, foaming-at-the-mouth feelings (and totally blown-out and devastating musical heaviness) throughout. Insect Warfare clearly choose the latter of the three above-mentioned tactics."World Extermination," the debut from these Houston, Texas-based monsters was originally released independently back in 2007. But even though it was originally overlooked, it did catch the attention of Earache Records, who rereleased the effort just after the band broke-up in 2009. (So yeah, huge props should definitely go to Earache for giving them the attention that they deserved.) "Unmitigated grindcore devastation" would be an apt three-word synopsis of this album. Insect Warfare's musicianship may not exactly be technical - it sounds so sloppy that it should not at-all be surprising to learn that Insect Warfare leave mistakes in. Still, the instrumental chops heard, here, are nothing to sneeze at. Guitars are extremely dissonant, bludgeoning, and filth-caked. (Also note that noisecore and Exhumed/Impaled-style splatterehouse thrash influences can often be heard in them.) The vocals, provided by Rahi, sound virtually wet in your ears - he alternates between skin-crawling, high-pitched screaming and full-bodied bellows. And he does so without ever coming across as a Trevor Strnad wannabe; no, he falls more along the lines of Barney Greenway, Mike Williams, and Seth Putnam. But after taking into consideration just how hyperspeed, chaotic, and bludgeoning it is, it becomes clear that the music's main driving force has got to be the drummer. Seriously, many of these blast beats undeniably rival, say, those of Nicholas Barker's (of Lock Up fame) have to be among the absolute most breakneck that you can buy. Plus, he frequently shows off nice stop-start time signatures reminiscent of Dave Witte. Finally, it is all topped off with a production that will catch most off guard; its sound quality/mixing job (which is about as raw and dirty as you can get) and palpable live energy gets in the listener face and smacks it around. The end result is an unbelievably bludgeoning affair that mercilessly attacks one's eardrums throughout; And it all flies by quicker than you know before you even know what hit you. Okay, that might be a tad bit of an overstatement; but still, any Eighties grinders would be proud to call their own. And the only real chance the listener gets to catch a breath comes during the few fleeting seconds after one track has ended and before the next one has had a chance to start. As such, once the record is over, do not be surprised if it all blends together into just one huge, fleeting, and blurry wall-of-noise Still, if one listens carefully and strictly dissects the songs, it is possible to find parts that do stand out. For example, there are a few (if not many) fleeting flirtations with something that verges on being near "groove." Tracks four, "Manipulator,", six, "Decontamination," ten, "Armored Virus," fourteen, "Necessary Dead," and twenty "Evolved Into Obliteration" (which makes for a tiny-but-effective use of strategically-placed silence) all sandwich relatively mid-tempo and chugging hardcore breakdowns in between the band's usual totally blown-out chaos.) It might not exactly be Carcass, Cryptopsy, Dying Fetus (or even Bolt Thrower, for that matter), but still...it's something! "Zone Killer,", "Dead Inside," "Human Trafficking," "Mass Communication Mind," "Protection Maze," and "Internet Era Alienation," are a handful of examples that better illustrate I.W.'s true sound, though. Grind in its purest form, these frantic, scorching skull-crushers are ripe with sparks-flying, nerve-damaging buzz/chainsaw picking, really crusty and brutal vocals, earth-quaking rhythms, and relentlessly steamrolling, "rat-tat-tat" jackhammer-fast grindcore blasting that gets drilled into skulls everywhere. It should be beyond obvious to note that Insect Warfare will never be the kind of band that will appeal to 99% of the population. But fans of Extreme Noise Terror, Napalm Death, Repulsion, Terrorizer, Nasum, Pig Destroyer, Discordance Axis, Phobia, Rotten Sound, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Capitalist Casualties, Agathocles, early Cannibal Corpse, and the like will enjoy "World Extermination" a lot.

Grind legends...
These guys are total grindcore legends. The songs are pure grindcore but with a lot of groove thrown in there, which makes the songs super memorable. One of my favorite grindcore albums of all time.

To the uneducated fool this sounds like shouting and hitting things but we know better. .......
A slab of the most intense and brutal hardcore thrash metal I have ever heard since Napalm Death released ' Scum ' .The more discerning amongst you will recognise the similarity in the artwork which is also quite dark and brooding in nature . The songs are utterly savage and this band have around twenty releases of albums and singles . Mighty stuff !!!
