This is an inexpensive way to add a surround to my Solo Bonfire. I found the idea from others who have done this, and it's quite nice for this use. Assembly is a bit of a pain in the butt, as the location of the allen screws are such that you can only turn the screw about 1/4" before having to relocate the wrench.. So it's not difficult--just a pain, and takes much longer than it should for such a simple assembly. I used the coper-color fire "bowl" as a lid to sit on top of my Solo Bonfire which is an added bonus. Using this as a surround creates a much more attractive patio fireplace, in my opinion, and provides a small shelf to sit a drink or something. You need to be careful, obviously, that it doesn't get too hot there for whatever you place on it. Unfortunately I don't have a picture handy, but you can sort of imagine it, I hope!

So I'm not using this as a fire pit but rather as a surround table for my Solo Bonfire fire pit. Been looking for something to put around the Solo so that I wouldn't worry about my puppies on the deck while we have the fire going. Saw that Solo came out with a surround table for their Bonfire and Yukon fire pits but they are $$$. Saw this and saw some people use it with their Bonfire and I was sold. My only concern was the quality and how hot it would get. Fire pit came in a couple of days and I immediately unboxed and put it together. Takes about 15-20 min and that's only bc you have to install the legs and the surround with about 14-16 small screws, using a small included allen wrench and only able to screw in half turns at a time....patience. In the end, I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. Had a full fire going and it didn't get hot to the touch at all. Perfect for my needs. Not sure I would buy it as an actual fire pit. The copper bowl, that's the pit part, seems pretty thin and cheap. For my purposes this is EXACTLY what I was looking for. Oh and still able to put the Solo cover on. There's just the right amount of space for the cover to slide right down. Then I put on the included cover to cover everything. Literally feels like it was made for the Solo Bonfire!! Hope this review helps others with the Solo Bonfire and wondering if it works!

We bought this item, and although it looked good out of the box, the first time we used it, I immediately regretted it. If this is merely a decorator piece to have in your backyard, it’s fine - very pretty. If, however, you want an actual fire pit to make fires, s’more’s etc.. than I do not recommend. First off, it’s incredibly tiny you can fit barely any wood in there and what is in there is not recessed it’s actually raised up which means not only is it easy for you to end up touching the flame but the wind blows the ash everywhere and blows the flame out. Secondly, that beautiful copper dish inside the first time you burn wood in it it’s no longer beautiful. Period. So to summarize, if you never plan on having fires, but he wants a visually pleasing fire pit, then this is for you. If you like roaring bonfires at night, don’t get this.

Came in good shape, well packed. Put it together in 15 minutes (I use an electric screwdriver with hex bit). Lightweight, and not thick metal, but if it is kept covered or stored out of the weather it should last several years. Like most shallow bowl fire pits, it doesn't get a lot of draft and won't keep a low fire well, so I drilled 4 1/4" holes in the bowl just below the grate line. Burns much better now at any size fire. I like that the ring doesn't get hot and can handle having drinks set on it. Spark shield is OK. Could be a little larger and sit on the bowl edge instead of inside of it. Included cover is nice, but light and probably won't last too long. Overall a solid product for the price. RECOMMENDATION: Make sure you give it a good, hot "burn in" before using it with guests. The manufacturing oils and such burn off and stink like crazy.

We were looking for an alternative surround for our Solo Stove Bonfire. Other reviewers suggested this fire pit and we were not disappointed. Easy to install, fits right over the Bonfire and if you don’t use the Solo Stove base it’s the perfect height, with the base it just adds a couple of inches. It’s amazing that it doesn’t get hot! It’s cool to the touch even after hours of fire. Great to keep our dogs (and most kids) safe. You can use the copper bowl for beverages, a bird bath, etc. and it also comes with a nice domed screen and weather proof cover. 2 thumbs up!!!
