Be very observant about exactly how the old one is mounted before r&r
Received exactly as described. The only thing that would make this better is if there were some detailed description for installation. I found a few YouTube videos to get it handled, but right at the end I had a little issue. Neither of the videos were very clear about this, and if I were even close to being "handy" it wouldn't have been an issue. So that you all can have a little laugh, I couldn't get the two screws to tighten down the "wings" that hold the thermostat onto the brace. It took me three removals and reinstalls before I realized that the "wings" had to be outside (closer to me) than the brace's tabs. Once I figured that out, it tightened down in place perfectly.

Inspect the thermo switch completely and compare to your oem themostat if possible to see if anything is different
Installed this thermostat in my fridge that I use as my extra storage space in my garage thinking it was a direct replacement . This thermostat is suppose to be a direct replacement for kenmore, not a direct replacement at all. First thing is the cold and colder on the thermostat is on opposite sides unlike the original one. So While installed the knob has to point in wrong direction and visually you are adjusting to colder but actually you are turning the fridge to off position. Lastly the the temp wire covering is too short so it is exposed inside fridge compartment which won't function properly fully exposed to the cold air blowing from the freezer instead of being lodge in between the foam pointing into the freezer duct. Due to these issues and malfunction all of my silk soy milk about 7 half gallons froze and got ruined costing me over 20 bucks on milk and also froze my veggies.

It works, but isn't calibrated to the correct temperature. (There is an adjustment screw on it though)
I have a problem with this. Out of the box, it doesn't get cold enough. My refrigerator has 2 identical controls like this one. I'm using this one to regulate the temperature of my freezer. When I connected it, at the max right turn, the freezer only got down to 20 degrees, instead of 0 degrees. I was about to re-install the old Cold Control because it kept the freezer at 20 below 0.. Anyway, I started looking at my old control and noticed a small screw hole on the front of it next to the main turn knob. Anyway, there was the word 'colder' etched into the case just above that hole. So, I stuck a screw driver in there and turned it about 1/2 turn in the 'colder' direction to see if it would adjust the temperature down a bit. I did that this morning and by the time I left the house, it had dropped the temperature to 8 degrees which is much better than 20. I'll check it again when I get home and I would imagine that the temperature will be lower. So, this does appear to work, it just isn't calibrated correctly. So, if yours is cooling to the wrong temperature, turn the main knob to the middle mark and then make small adjustments to the 'colder' screw with a very small screw driver and check it every 1/2 hour or so and make slight adjustments and you should be good to go.

Re-refrigerated!
My original issue was with the refrigerator not cooling unless I tapped on the thermostat, basically the contact must have been sticking. Installing this immediately corrected the issue. It was a pretty easy install. The brackets from the original thermostat didn't come off but fortunately the tube from the temperature probe is stiff enough to keep it in place and allows me to adjust it with the original knob. I also didn't have to do any adjustments to calibrate it, which may vary per unit.Should the part go bad I'll update this review, but for now it's doing exactly what I bought it for!
