Works Flawlessly for me
I like finding practical solutions that extend the life of tools I already own, so I was genuinely interested to see how well this JJXNDO V8 adapter would perform in real-world use. After testing it with my Dyson V8, I can say it’s a clever idea that—mostly—delivers when used correctly. The concept is simple: this adapter allows you to use a DeWalt 20V lithium battery in place of the original Dyson V8 battery. Installation was straightforward and didn’t require any modifications to the vacuum or battery. It clicks into place securely, and removing it is just as easy.In terms of performance, the biggest advantage is runtime. With a higher-capacity DeWalt battery, I was able to clean longer without needing to recharge, which is a noticeable upgrade over the stock Dyson battery—especially if your original battery has started to degrade over time.Build quality is better than expected for an accessory like this. The plastic housing feels solid, and the connection points align well without looseness or wobble. Once attached, it feels stable during normal vacuum use.A few things stood out during testing:* Great way to repurpose existing DeWalt batteries if you already own them* Extended runtime compared to an aging OEM battery* No tools required for installation* Fits snugly without interrupting normal operationThat said, there are a couple of important considerations. This adapter adds some bulk and weight to the vacuum, which can make it feel a bit less balanced, especially during longer cleaning sessions. Also, since this isn’t an official Dyson accessory, there’s no onboard communication with the vacuum for battery percentage, so you’re relying on the battery’s indicator instead. One more practical note: as with any third-party power solution, it’s important to use quality batteries and avoid over-discharging to maintain both safety and longevity.Overall, this is a smart, cost-effective workaround for extending the usability of a Dyson V8—particularly if your original battery isn’t holding a charge anymore. It’s not a perfect plug-and-play replacement, but for the right user, it’s a very functional and worthwhile upgrade.A thoughtful accessory that solves a real problem without overcomplicating things.

DOES NOT WORK WITH POWERSTACK 5AH
Giving this 5 stars because it took 30 seconds to swap out, was super affordable, and works with all of my batteries big and small except my new powerstack 5ahs. The vacuum will not run with it, it tries to but it sounds like it’s dying of thirst from no juice. Swapped it out with a regular 4ah and ran both max suction and extended run like it was a brand new vacuum. Buying another to fix up another used Dyson on marketplace to keep in the garage

Cheaply made
CRAP ... It does not stay shut - slide in properly. The rail on the inside is very weak. Using the DeWalt battery definitely makes your Dyson V8 vacuuming experience better and lasts longer. however, IF the adaptor doesn't slide in correctly, it is not worth the changes. It happens because you are using the battery on and off to clean your floors. If you don't clean daily it might last longer but I seriously doubt it as you can see in photos. Also, using the DeWalt battery definitely makes it heavier to use the Dyson and it is very bulky. I would say that If you have disability for holding things this is not for you. I did not see or feel any excessive heat coming from the battery or the Dyson itself so that was a good sign. As for the value for what it cost, the answer would be it is a cheaply made product not worth the money. Hence, waste of money cause it broke literally ONE month later. I'm out of the money and product because it was purchases on Jan. 5 and today is Feb 5th and it broke all the way off and can't be repaired.

dyson clogged but works great after cleaning
Bought this and swapped it out with the existing battery. It worked good to begin with but after a few days the Dyson quit running. It will now only run then shut off run and shut off. It hesitates and acts like something is holding it back. found out we had to deep clean the dyson. After taking it apart and cleaning then re-assembling it works like a champ and with the dewalt batter it will run all day. recommend

My savior
If you don’t care about not being able to hang it in the wall cradle and you have Dewalt batteries at your disposal, then you should get this. This has been my little savor and I’m glad I went this route. For me, my Dyson battery would let me use the turbo mode for maybe 30 seconds before croaking. I was going to get a replacement Dyson battery but I didn’t feel like paying $130 for one. This was more my speed because it was cheaper and I have a handful of 5Ah Dewalt batteries laying around. With this installed and a 5Ah battery on it, it seems like I can vacuum 1400 sq ft 3-4 times before I have to charge the battery. I can also use the turbo mode for a lot longer than the factory battery (even when it was new).Install was easy, just follow the instructions and like 5 minutes later and you’re good to go.

Oops, I updated my review with a 2 star, but found the problem was with me, so 5 stars.
Oops, had to change my review from a two star to a five star. The V8 vacuum was pulsing and I assumed it was an electrical problem since I thoroughly cleaned the motor head and swapped the DeWalt battery, yet it still pulsed. Well, it was the brush head--totally clogged (it turns out my daughter's V7 was doing the same thing for the same reason). As a note, I've been using 5 AH Waitley batteries just for this, and when it gets down to the 2 indicator charge light it will shut down. So, my wife just changes the battery with a newly charged one. The Dyson's original battery is 21.6 volts and the DeWalt is 20v, so maybe when the DeWalt battery drops in charge and the voltage becomes a little too low for the Dyson. No problem, just swap it out. The replacement batteries for the Dyson aren't very reliable.

Works great
I was disappointed that to use my V8 Dyson I would need to replace the battery and with the OEM battery costing around $130, aftermarket in the $40 plus range with little confidence in the aftermarket version. I found this adapter for less than $30, I’m a woodworker/property maintenance guy, hate to throw a tool away that still has some use (wasteful)! I had 8 Dewalt 20V 5 amp batteries in my shop. I Installed the adapter in about 15 minutes with only three screws and I’m good to go. It works fine on both power levels. My wife had purchased another Dyson cordless stick vacuum for the house, now I have one just for the shop. Happy camper!

Great solution to an expensive problem
I bought this Dewalt to Dyson V8 adapter for my Dyson V8 Animal.I use dewalt branded 5AH batteries and get almost double the battery life of the original battery when it was new.Upon pulling the trigger a green light appears and the vacuum powers up, until the battery is almost depleted in which case the led turns red letting you know when to change the battery (you can still use the battery life indicator on the battery itself). One thing to note is that the original battery had a reed switch so that when the dustbin was open it wouldnt let the motor run, this adapter doesn't have that but just dont go pulling the trigger when the storage bins open. And no you can't charge it with the original dyson charger anymore, you have to charge the drill batteries as normal with a dewalt charger.
