It Just Works - That's What You Want
One USB port turned into 4. I am running an external keyboard (I type better on them), an external mouse (much more control for Visio and other things), my phone charger, and my Altec Lansing baby boom box (for music) off of a single PC USB port through this device.No negative impact on performance of anything.Perfect. Maybe I should have got one with more ports?This just WORKS! That's what you want it to do.

Great USB extension but wish cord was longer
Great value but wish the cord was a bit longer and also wish it came with mounting tape but it works as promised and opened up more USB ports on my PC which is ultimately the goal. Well made from trusted company with 1 year warranty.

This is exactly what I was looking for
My new laptop came with only one USB port. The laptop runs very hot which means I had to get a cooling pad and this used the one and only USB port. There was only one extra USB port on the cooling pad which I used for my computer's mouse. As such, I could not plug in a thumb drive or any other external drive. This has worked great and solved my issue.

What I was looking for!
Very compact design and fits everywhere. It provides USB 2.0 backwards compatibility with my older/legacy devices, such as GPS. When traveling it provides additional charging ports. Great product!

StarTech.com 4 Port USB 2.0 Hub - USB Bus Powered - Portable Multi Port USB 2.0 SplitterPlease note: those tiny (1 in by .5 inch) USB adapters for the microSDHC USH-I U1 memory cards (that everybody is using now) will NOT fit--- the HUB port is too tight. HUB works fine with mouse, keyboard, and thumbs drive USBs. And they do arrive quickly. kmb

使い始めて間もないので、耐久性は評価出来ませんが、本商品の全ポート問題無く使えました。本商品をUSB3.xx、USB2.0に挿してキーボード、マウス、USB-DACなどを試してみました。本商品をUSB-DAC、パソコンの音飛び、音切れ、ノイズ等の対策に考えて購入しましたが、私の環境では改善させることは出来ませんでした。同じ問題を抱えている方の参考になればと思います。startechさんの商品は、他にもケーブルなどを4商品ほど使っていますが、本商品を含め問題があったことが無いので耐久性も期待できるのではと考えています。今のところちゃんと使えています。

Nice and small, works great
Nice, obviously manu peopel now want USB3, but many things really don't need it and this is nice because it is so small. I would prefer it if the little cable were detachable so it can have a longer lead - althoug an extension is of course feasible. I use this as a little extension on my oscilloscope so I can have memory sticks and wifi dongles and a mouse which I prefer to touch-screen, all at the same time and it works great for that and if I want I can plug in a keyboard - so very small, and just right. If I were still travelling with work I would throw one of these in my laptop bag without hesitation.
