Jones Stephens Saddle Tee Kit, 4X4-Inch

The S26-007 Saddle Tee is for schedule 40 pipe. If you are trying to use it on 4" thin wall drain pipe (DWV), it will not work, as it has a larger ID (to match the larger OD on sch 40). These are a MUST when you are dealing with existing pipe that has NO side to side give to slip in a regular Tee fitting. If you are trying to use ANY 4" Saddle Tee on thin wall drain pipe, you need to chop off a couple of pieces of the thin wall to fill (shim) the space between the saddle, and thin wall drain pipe; this is approximately two pieces of thin wall sandwiched and glued together to the saddle. The best way to do this, is by literally clamping it on a section of thin wall pipe which will match the OD of the thin wall and ID of the saddle exactly. Once you have done this prep work, you can then glue the complete mating face of the modified saddle to the thin wall drain pipe. After this sets up, you can drill whatever size hole you want through the two pvc shims, and the actual drain pipe.

Works fine, used on a 4" septic line to put in an escape for sewer gas just past the buried septic tank. The upper hole was larger than the green sewer pipe so we had to glue a cap on the end, cut out the middle, then glue the exhaust pipe into the saddle. Seems to be working fine now.

I had a hard time finding a saddle tee. Not many hardware stores (even the oldtime Mom and Pop shops) carry these. This is a great was to add a connection to an exiting cast iron pipe. Easy to use and not difficult to install in close quarters.

Nice to not have to cut out a section of pipe to add a line. Easy installation with clamps provided.

This saddle joint worked just as advertised, maybe even better. Simple to install and does not leak.
