RDS MFG INC 72773 Fuel Tank

We travel full time pulling a 5th wheel so I wanted extra fuel capacity for out west.This fits great with a little room between it and the hitch and was easy to install.Not super crazy about it only being held in by 2 1/4" bolts, but as long as you don't roll it's probably fine. The outlet at the bottom happened to line up with one of my bed cross members, so I had to pad the fuel line extra because I didn't want it to get cut.Seller was great and it arrived in just a few days via freight. 1 small dent to the lid, but not enough for me to want to wait for a new one.

I should mention a couple of things about the order. The tank dimensions as shown in the ad were exact, but the mounting brackets were smaller and in a different location than shown. Due tot he bracket location the tank has to mount differently than I had originally planned. The order was placed and it arrived on the west coast a day before estimated, but when it arrived it was packaged poorly and in a manner that would do little to protect the tank. As a result of either handling or shipping one corner and the lid were dented. I might be able to pound them out fairly straight, but I will probably risk doing additional damage. Construction quality of the tank seems good, but the lid is crooked and the latch system doesn't allow me to tighten it and have it still keep a tight seal. In all, I am happy with the good price, but I am disappointed with the design of the mounting system and the lid. On the plus side I also got the RDS Diesel Install kit that allows the tank to feed fuel directly into the filler neck on the truck. It was a fairly easy install and, although it is a slow feed, works great.

If you’re looking for a fuel tank for your truck this is the perfect one. This is the second time I have purchased this as we sold our last truck with the fuel tank. It is reasonably priced & easy to install. You will need to purchase the RDS MFG INC 11408 a diesel installation kit as well.

Tank functions well, tool box area is good.The only issue is see is not enough anchorage to bed of vehicle.Only two small tabs in the back corners to hold down 300lbs of weight.We had a aluminum angle tig welded to each side and installed 4 bolts per side.Fixed the proble.

like the box, but the shipping packaging leaves a lot to be desired. They need corner protection on the lid as mine came with corner damage enough that the lid would not close after initially opening. Lucky for me I'm used to tin knocking so fixed it myself but for the money a little more cardboard would help.

My box arrived very fast, but upon opening, it had several dents. I'll keep it and knock most of the dents out. However, it wouldn't open and required a lot of pulling to finally open. Upon inspection, the latch bars were both too long and rubbing. I had to grind 1/4" off each bar and now it opens smoothly. I'm overall pleased with the box, but they could package it better and use more quality control. If they would have even tested the lid operation, they would have discovered it doesn't even open.

Used this tank for a year now. wish I had gotten the 50 gallon that is only 19 inches tall so it would sit below the bed rails. I installed a small in line pump so it transfers the fuel much faster.BTW, the dimensions listed in the product description are meaningless! Does anyone proof read these ads? I'm guessing no.

First off let’s make this clear the description is absolutely false this is not a 90 gallon tank it’s a 41 gallon tank at first I thought maybe I was sent the wrong one but going to the RDS website it’s a 41 gallon tank with this part number amazon needs to correct that right a way that being said it was easy to install and a beautiful box
