But it can be MUCH too drying for my sensitive skin, even when complimenting it with moisturizer AND using it every other night. I've used other BP 2.5% formulations in the past and this one isn't much different from those (e.g., burns eyes, dehydrates skin, enlarges pores after long-term usage, shrinks cysts, bleaches towels, clothing, etc.). So for the long-term: I only spot treat when I've got an active acne lesion on my skin and I never use it morning AND night. Also, I always use a mild cleanser when using this gel so as not to further irritate my active acne. FYI, some people are allergic to benzoyl peroxide, so if you initially get a rash or breakout severely upon usage of this, STOP while you're ahead. I once made this mistake when using another company's formulation of bp two years ago and it scarred my face. Just be cautious and you're sure to see great results. :)

I haven't use benzyl peroxide since the last time I saw a dermatologist, like 5 years ago. I always used 10% BP which irritated my skin like crazy and never helped my acne. I recently read that 2.5% BP is supposed to be equally as effective and less irritating so I decided to give this a try. I chose this product because there are no unnecessary ingredients and it had good reviews. I think the best thing about this product is that I haven't noticed any bleaching of my towels or pillowcases!!! I have been using this for about a week now and I have noticed a reduction in my acne already. My only complaint is that it burns my eyes when I put it on my cheeks/nose for some reason, but that goes away in about a minute. I don't have any issues wearing this under makeup either. Love this stuff so far!

This did a good job in clearing up a breakout caused by a "new to me" skin product. At only 2.5%, I didn't have to worry about the "bleaching" effect on pillow cases or clothing. Having said that, I still have a few places that need a "big gun" product, and this just isn't strong enough to do the job. On the plus side, it did not dry out my sensitive skin, and did not have any odor. I think this is more a preventative product, at least in my case, rather than a "get rid of it now" product.

This product is a perfect addition to any acne fighting regimen. Just clean the face gently with a cleanser, apply this and let dry and then apply moisturizer (benzoyl peroxide is a drying agent which is what makes it so effective against acne, but will dry out skin considerably if a good moisturizer is not used). For more technical info, I'd consider visiting acne.org. i use the regimen myself with products i could find on amazon prime and my skin is finally clear (after trying everything from home and natural remedies to prescription drugs like accutane and prescription 10% benzoyl peroxide). Would definitely recommend this product since its one of the few gel-based, prime-eligible, 2.5% benzoyl peroxide treatments.

I'll say I've had prescription differin, and this had very similar effects to that. Except differin is $40 a tube and you need a prescription.They recently made epiduo which has this benzoyl gel mixed with differin gel in a single tube. I've never gotten that because of the price, but based off its composition I can almost guarantee that will work great. Nonetheless Solvere works great on its own. 2 draw backs: first, if you put a lot on or put some on without lotion before or after, it will leave residue. Second, they have raised the price considerably since I first ordered my first bottle! It was around $7 back then, now its $12+ what gives?!

Ive had a minor skin issue for many many years small blemish for time to time thats about it ..but i never really had a go to product....This has recieved good reviews so i tryed it For me it is not much better then anything found in your local store. and a bit pricey so i will continue using OTC products the ingrediants are about the same more or less so save your money and shop locally

I love this gel! I think it really helps that it is a gel; I can use it with the moisturizer of my choice. I like it so much better than the proactiv lotion. With the proactiv lotion my face always felt greasy. With this gel I can use a moisturizer and the gel at the same time, and both absorb great. The only downside is that it burns my eyes a little when I put in on my forehead, but any benzyl peroxide would do that. My face looks really good right now; it's working!

Great if you are trying dry out active acne. But if you keep putting it on in excess you skin will be very dry.
