This is a really neat lock for someone just getting into locksmithing or locksporting. You get a kit that's all in pieces, and you have to completely assemble the lock. The lock, once completed, functions perfectly as a practice lock for single pin picking. One thing to be aware of though; there is a cap that snaps on the side of the lock, which holds the driver pins and pin springs in place. That cap has a tendency to fly off when you snap the lock shut, or pick it open and allow the shackle to pop out unhindered. Best to use a small amount of glue to hold it in place.

The e-guide shown in the photos was not provided via email.
The kit went together quickly. The tools are basic and functional for this lock. It was a fun experiment with the child. The instructions to assemble the lock were in the box, the link to the e-guide on how to pick locks never appeared, and I did check the Spam folder. The tools lack of sophistication is desirable as I wanted to teach my child how a lock works, but not furnish her with a legitimate set of burglary tools. Once assembled the plate that holds the tumbler pins and springs in is a tight fiction fit and not something that could be easily knocked out and replace to re-pin the tumbler. This is fun, educational, one time assembly project.

As a hobby I learned to pick locks years ago. This kit is cool to see how a lock it put together and functions. The only negative is the lock is very easy to pick. That said it is still a worthwhile purchase.

Great set
Great little gift idea for anybody who loves to tinker and understand how things work. Parts are tiny - it's a real lock - so maybe not the best for people with particularly large fingers.

Great! But too easy for picking.
Came in a really nice box. This product is really good for the understanding of how locks are put together and how the insides work. The lock is surprisingly easy to pick though.

Once set you can't change pattern
Once you set the tumblers you can't re-adjust it...works fine otherwise..

Cool Kit, If you want to build the lock your self.
For starters this is a cool little kit if you want to see how the lock is put together and functions. The only negative is the lock is super easy to pick so it takes hardly any effort to open the lock. I'll will explain what I'm talking about so everyone can understand better.Once I put together the lock I inserted the tension wrench in the locks keyway and placed little tension on it. Then I used the technique called "Zipping" which is a kinetic attack. The lock opened on the 1st "Zipping" attack every single time. The second technique I done on the lock is called "Rocking". Since I only have the pick that's included in this kit I used that. Again the lock opens on the 1st try every single time.Even if you do single pin picking the lock is easy to pick and open. Matter of fact you can just insert the pick all the way in the lock. Then just start pushing up on all the pins if you got the right angle on the pick the lock will open as well.I removed two star's cause of how simple the lock is to pick. But in the end I still find it be a worthwhile purchase for the price. Placing this in a basket on the coffee table. Could end up starting some nice conversations about it.

We loved the lock set
We loved the lock set. It was worth putting together the lock and seeing how cool the inside of a lock is, and then learning how to pick a lock.
