No it just slides over the after you cut the tub

As long as your bathtub does not exceed the maximum tub requirements listed, the product should work on your tub. There are no minimum tub rail width requirements.

What about a door in the "cutout" so I can still use the tub if needed?

There is no door. You will no longer be able to use the tub.. it turns it into a shower only

I don't see the altra low cleancut opening?

It depends on your tub. Our regular guestroom tub made the step-through less than four inches from the bathroom floor.
