Speedball Injection Molded Plastic Bat, Round, 12 inch Diameter, Blue (BB12)

The bat seems to be well made, & is one of the few that I saw that accommodate bat pins on 9 inch centers (10 inch too, but they seem to be much more common). The bat is flat & the surface holds the clay well. I've only had it a couple of weeks, so I don't know about durability, but there doesn't seem to be much room for this thing to go wrong, unless I manage to store it wrong & it warps. Right now, storing it on edge seems to work fine.My only problem is with the vendor. I ordered the bat & some pins from the same vendor at the same time. Everything seemed to come from the same location. The bat was Amazon Prime, the pins were not. I understand paying for shipping on the pins if they weren't on Prime, but they also sent them separately. That means that the bat came about 5 days before the pins. In the meantime I went to Lowes and bought cap screws and wing nuts for a couple of dollars. I had to file the heads of the cap screws a little to fit the bat, but they work fine, & I haven't replaced them with the actual bat pins.You'd think that they could have thrown the pins in the box with the bat, even if they had to charge me something for shipping. Seems like wasted effort, and was certainly a waste of money on my part.

I Bought 5 of these bats they were as pictured and worded great for me. They blue is a nice color and helped me to know they were mine in my pottery class. They were nice, level and smooth. I actually was able to center easier on these bats vs. wooden bats. They fit perfectly to the wheels we used in our class. Overall, I would order them again.

The holes are so tight that the batt flexes when you take it off the pins. hopefully they will loosen with use.

Fits wheel head perfectly! Bumps on side make placing very easy. Works well and has not warped yet. Overall good product.

These bats are perfect for my wheel! The plastic feels nice and I feel won’t burn your hand unlike other bats I’ve used!

Don't buy these! I ordered 2 of them because I had problems with warping on a manufactured wood bat and was told plastic would be more stable and less prone to warping. Problem is, these are not flat to begin with and no matter what I try to do I can't get them to lay completely flat on the wheel head. One of them rises and falls at the outer edge like a warped record. I received these bats a few weeks ago and only had a chance to use them today or I would have returned them. Pieces of junk and now I'm stuck with them!

I am so happy I bought this. I do pottery at a co-op and we have a lot of communal bats that are all brown. I bought this because I felt bad always using the communal bats that those taking classes at our studio could be using. I love that this one is blue and stands out (although I will probably have to write my name on it) and it is really nice and soft on my hand when I am working with gritty clay, which the wheel head isn't, so that is a bonus. I am so happy with my purchase, and it shipped fast too! Thank you!

This was exactly what I was looking for, to put on top of my pottery wheel. However, it didn't have the protruding notches to fit into the holes of my pottery wheel table. My crafty bf had to fix something up to make it work (wooden crayon pieces and hot glue ;) .

was too expensive, 3 times other providers, won't happen again.
