I really wanted it to work well
Well, after reading all of the great reviews for these coffee filters I was very excited to start making Vietnamese coffee at home but its not been a good experience so far. The filter seems to be fairly well made, and the process is pretty straight forward. I purchased the Trung Nguyen Vietnamese coffee Premium blend to go along with the filter and have tried several times to make coffee with that as well as some standard grind Folgers from the grocery store. No matter what I try, the coffee takes at least 30 minutes to drip through the filter. The only conclusion I can come to is that the holes in the filter are too small to let the coffee drip through at the proper rate. I have to believe that the filter I received is an anomaly since most of the reviewers seem to be having a good experience with theirs. I guess I will see if the seller stands behind their product, I will update this review after I see how this situation is handled. 2 stars.Update 7/25/17: OK, I'm impressed. I received an email from the seller, Fitzy Shop within 24 hours of posting my original review, notifying me that they were charging back the purchase price of this item to my account. Obviously good customer service is very important to this seller and I am very happy to recommend to anyone that they should purchase from Fitzy Shop at any time and feel comfortable knowing they will be taken care of. While I am still disappointed that I can't make the Vietnamese coffee that I wanted to (I will figure that one out), I am updating my review from 2 to 3 stars based on the customer support. Thank you Fitzy Shop for being the kind of conscientious seller that makes it pleasant to shop on Amazon.Update 8/25/17: Once again the seller Fitzy Shop has surprised and amazed me, so much so, I have upgraded my rating to 5 stars. I was unable to post this update right away, but shortly after posting the charged back purchase price, I received notification of a pending delivery from Amazon. A week later I received not only a new 15oz. filter but also an 11oz. filter from Fitzy Shop. The 15oz. filter is a screw down type, so it is slightly different than the original one. I have not tried the 11oz. filter yet , but the 15oz. does seem to work much better than the original one. Obviously you can feel completely comfortable ordering from Fitzy Shop, they definitely stand behind their products, and have a customer service policy second to none. I applaud you Fitzy Shop for your integrity as a seller, and trust me, I am telling everyone who will listen, to purchase from you if they ever get the chance to. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

Read About My Mistakes And How I Finally Got A SOLID CUP OF COFFEE! PERFECT FILTER!
I was so used to the screw on filters, but tired of how the screw would often break and no longer tighten. I purchased this one at a great price as a two-pack. My first attempt at making coffee was a total fail. I treated this filter like a screw on and poured some water in, waited 20 seconds, then poured the rest. I heard the water quickly drip down into my cup and within a min, the filter was empty. I knew the coffee would taste like.. well, water. And yup, it did. My second attempt the next day wasn't any better. In fact, I would say it was worse! This morning was my third and final attempt. I was going to return these filters if I don't get a perfectly strong coffee. But I did! Before I started to pour the water in, I remember reading on the reviews about how the coffee grounds need to be packed. In my first two attempts, I "packed" the grounds by pushing the top filer as firmly into the grounds as possible. Well, that's probably not what the reviewer meant. I realized that "packing" the grounds means soaking them, making it wet, less porous and difficult for water to get through... like dirt (dry) v. mud (wet). When it finally came time to pour in my water, I literally poured in a table spoon at a time... watched it disappear but didn't hear any dripping sound. I did it again three more times, for a total of 4 times. I stopped when I began to hear a drip. A single drip at least 8 seconds after I poured in the last bit of "packing" water indicated to me that perhaps it was ok to fill the rest of the filter. I did just that, placed the cover on, and washed some dishes for the next 5 min. To my relief, when I went back to check on the filter well, I still saw water! YES. SUCCESS. NO NEED FOR A RETURN! And now I'm drinking my perfect cup of coffee.

Vietnamese coffee anytime your little heart desires
These Vietnamese coffee brewers are fantastic. I ordered the large 11 oz brewers, and they came with detailed instructions and pictures, but I think the instructions are for a much smaller brewer because it says to use 1 tbsp of ground coffee. After experimenting with this for a bit, here's the method I've come up with for making Vietnamese iced coffee that tastes just like the ones served in restaurants (again, note that this is for the 11 oz brewer):1. The instructions say to use a medium-coarse grind, but I found that to be too coarse. On my Cuisinart burr grinder , I set it to a couple notches below medium. There are holes in the brewer, and you just need the ground coffee to be bigger than those holes. Also, you don't need to use a special kind of coffee. One of the restaurants we go to uses Starbucks. I use whatever dark roast I have on hand.2. Set the bottom filter tray over your cup, and place the brewer on top of that. A 16 oz glass or mason jar works well for this size brewer.3. Add the ground coffee to the brewer. I find that 6 tbsp makes a nice, strong cup of coffee.4. Put the gravity insert into the brewer and press down to tamp the ground coffee.5. Pour 8 oz of 200+ degree (F) water into the brewer.6. Once it's done brewing, remove the brewer, stir in your condensed milk (I use 2 heaping tsp) and then add ice.7. Enjoy the fact that you just saved yourself at least $3, and that you can now have Vietnamese iced coffee anytime you want.In restaurants, they give you a smaller glass with condensed milk, and the coffee brews into that glass. Then you stir it up and pour it into a glass filled with ice. It's easier to stir up if you add the condensed milk to the hot coffee instead of the other way around. Adding the ice to the coffee at the end means there's one less glass to wash.If you love to drink Vietnamese coffee, this is a great little investment.

Great Product and Great Customer Service
These coffee filters were very easy to use. My daughter is now our favourite barista in making our Vietnamese Iced Coffee. I had a question about the filters and the company was quick to get back to me and made some recommendations (such as changing the type of brand of coffee that had a different grind) that was so useful and made a nice difference in how the coffee was brewed and tasted.Highly recommend this product!!

Large (11 oz) Phin Filter, gravity press too small for the filter (Edited)
I am editing my review after I noticed problems. I agree with the other reviewer, I've also order the Large recently and couldn't understand why there is so much coffee ground floating from underneath the press and realized the coffee was coming upward toward the gaps on the side. Not only that it drips too fast and not allowing to "brew" properly. I've taken photos to compare my old screwed on phin filter (stem currently broken) and the large one which I recently ordered. You can clearly see the gaps. Very disappointed and will be returning.

Sturdy and a good size
The product is a nice stainless steel, everything is in good condition, cleans easy and provides a nice volume (we went with large, doesn't quite fill a tall coffee mug). We have only used it a few times but we are truly satisfied with the quality and workmanship and truly appreciate the quick turnaround. Highly recommend if you are looking to get a set of your own.

The drip clogs all the time!
I'm not a fan of this, I always end up making a mess or have lots of spills as the dripper always gets clogged by the coffee grounds, I own other vietnamese coffee filters/drippers and they're much easier to use.If I was able to return it, I totally would have.
