I purchased these because I needed 16 (not 12 as most places sell), and they were inexpensive. I bought the white color to paint them. The paint seemed to stick somewhat well, but chipped off if you handled them too much. Although they appeared to be the same size as the previous ones that were used in our shutters, they were a little wider. We had to apply some pressure to get them in, and with some pressure the first one bent and became unusable. The second one we tried, the top snapped off. I am disappointed with this product to say the least. I purchased some from Menards and the quality is far superior to these, and they are a lot stronger too.

These are good. They hold well. Yes, they are easy to bend or break if you just try to force them in blindly. I mean come on!! It's plastic..... . Drill or redrill the hole, make sure it is deep enough, and push them in straight. They will work. I didn'tbreake any of those. I bend two or three.... (out of 120 installed) but they could be reused on other shutters....

I haven't had the chance to install yet this year as it won't stop raining, however, I have purchased these before. Easy to install. If previous peg used and for whatever reason shutter came off...be sure to get any piece of previous peg out before trying to install this....if this plastic peg bends when you try to insert it, it will be useless.

Once I figured out what size drill bit to use for installing these they worked great. No instructions come with them and I had to use trial and error to figure out what size bit to use for the pilot hole into the house side. They do take paint and look good once matched to the rest of the panel.

Good product but don't buy just what you think you need...buy a few more because there is a chance you could snap the head off of some of them...I'm not blaming manufacturer just me installing them and not drill quite far enough into surface of house , if I need more for more shutters I will buy them from then again.

These match the color description and are of the length as advertised.Best part? There are the correct number of new items in the bag! So much different from the various home diy stores I went to.They arrived withing the shipping time predicted.Very pleased customer.

I've purchased many different varieties of these over the years and found these to be among my least favored, as the plastic is less dense, making them less ridged and too bendy. This meant that I ruined several while driving into existing and fully bored out holes in brick.

I have purchased these style pegs before from a local big box improvement store and they worked out great...NOT these. These are weak and flimsy. I broke 7 or 8 out of the 16 in the bag. I over-gingerly handled the rest to get the job done. Go buy from the Builder's Edge brand from the local "H.D." or "L."
