Good when on sale
Great when on sale, otherwise too expensive. Great for starting seeds, holds moisture, not sturdy, perfect size, good drainage, not good for hanging.

Excellent Product
I purchased the "Cowpots" for the first time this year and I am very happy that I did. I germinate many varieties of seeds each year both Vegetables and flower. In the past I have used peat-based pots for the plants that do not handle transplanting well because they do not like their roots disturbed. I found these pots and decided to give them a try. Not only are they environmentally friendly and sustainable, but they are strong and hold up well. I found that the peat-based pots hold on too much moisture and fall apart before the seedlings are ready to be put in the ground. The "Cowpots" are stronger and sturdier than the peat-based pots, yet the roots easily penetrate the pot as the plant grows preventing it from becoming root bound. All in all, I am glad I found this product and will purchase again.

Love these.
Update: Last year we used Cow Pots to set tomato seeds. Worked great. Stayed together through many waterings and roots grew right through the pots. We transplanted to garden and pots. Next year this is all we will purchase. Update - this year we have many, many COW POTS. We have reordered them three times and most recently we bought them for our gardening friends to try. You can't go wrong with these.

Best cow pots I've tried
Performed just as described, and repotted easily when roots came out of pot.

Prefer the round ones
I used cow pots for the first time this year. I did not start seeds in them but transplanted seedlings I’d started to them when they had their first sets of true leaves. I kept my seedlings in a cold frame after transplanting to the cow pots so I could control watering—I am not sure how cow pots would hold up in heavy and frequent rainfall but they helped up pretty well to watering and occasional rain. As my photo shows, roots can grow through the cow pots, the photo shows eggplant roots. I have tried the 3” round, the 3” square and the 4” square and probably will mostly purchase the round ones in the future as the square ones occasionally break apart at the corners when damp. It’s only happened a few times but I haven’t had any problems with the round ones. The 4” square is a nicer size for certain plants though, but be gentle with them! When I plant the plants in their permanent location I do break up the cow pot a bit, even though the directions say you don’t need to. I am happy with the biodegradable nature of this product, I hate buying more plastic than is absolutely necessary.

Good pots
I was told by store employee to cut bottom out of the peat moss pots in stores. They take forever to decompose. Suggested we buy the real cow pots online. I ordered 3 - 12 pack boxes. All arrived quickly and in excellent condition. I planted my starts and they absorb water nicely. All is going well

Great For Cucumbers!
I had issues with direct sowing my cucumbers due to garden pests that would eat the sprouts. So I sowed seeds in one of these, and once they were big enough, transplanted them into the garden. No issues with transplant shock! Also, these break down well with water, which is great since it won't confine the roots upon planting. You just have to be careful that they're able to air out after watering if you're starting seeds in them before the season, otherwise they might fall apart on you. No issues with bad smells either!

Have nit used it yet.

Handy for growing indoors during winter months and can easily be transferred into an outdoor garden when needed. The pots hold substantial moisture thereby reducing the need to water plants frequently. A great addition to meet your gardening needs.
