The magnifier does work well. The LED lights are bright, even with lower voltage NiMH rechargeable batteries. The "45x" small circle is almost too strong. It must be very close to the item to see the magnified image. When looking at a highly magnified image, I usually close one eye to see the image clearly. If both eyes are open, parallax from one eye looking at a different angle makes the image look distorted.

I CANNOT READ WITHOUT SOMETHING LIKE THIS. I HAD A MGLASS BUGHT AT BARNES AND NOBEL. IT WAS GREAT BUT I LOST IT. I ORDERED THIS FROM AMAZON. IT CAME QUICKLY AND I AM AGAIN ABLE TO READ BOOKS A GLASS WITHOUT THE LIGHT IS NO GOOD AT ALL AND THIS COST SO MUCH LESS THAN SOME I HAVE SEEN LEIGIH

Excellent product and excellent quality except for one aspect - the diameter of this is just too small. I'm going to keep it but it won't be as useful as it could have been.
