BRITA Store: Brita Everyday Elite Water Filter Pitcher, Black & Clear Polymer, 10-Cup Capacity
BRITA Store: Brita Everyday Elite Water Filter Pitcher, Black & Clear Polymer, 10-Cup Capacity This product is a Brita water pitcher. This particular model is classic the 10-cup design and includes the โBrita Eliteโ filter product, which is said the last longer and remove more contaminants than the Original Brita filter design. The Brita Elite filter is specifically designed to filter the userโs tap water and to remove specific contaminants of concern. These include a physical filtration process to remove physical contaminants such as Asbestos, so-called micro-plastics (including particles that measure 0.5ยตm to 1.0ยตm), and a class of contaminates called โParticulate Class VI.โ My research has indicated that โParticulate Class VIโ refers to the reduction of relatively large particles from drinking water, specifically those that are 50 micrometers (ยตm) and larger. Additionally, the Brita Elite filter employs a chemical filtration process where the filter either absorbs or adsorbs specific chemical contaminants of concern. These include Chlorine, Lead, Cadmium, Mercury, Benzene, and select pharmaceutical and pesticide chemicals. The Brita Elite filter includes a section of pleated filtration media for the physical filtration process followed by section containing activated carbon and other materials for the removal and sequestration of the organic chemicals and the heavy metal contaminants. The Brita Everyday Elite Water Filter Pitcher has incorporated into the lid of the filter a โSmartLight Indicatorโ which gives the user visible feedback of the quality of the water produced and further tells the user when the Brita Elite filter is due for replacement. The Brita Everyday Elite Water Filter Pitcher is capable of filtering up to 120 gallons of the userโs tap water which under average use levels should take about 6 months (depending upon the water use rates and the levels of contamination contained within the userโs tap water). When I received the pitcher, I immediately opened the box, removed the product, read the instructions, washed the pitcher, and began my understanding of the Brita Filter product. I have never owned one of these types of water filter products before but I have never had to deal with extremely hard water before. I have no issues with Chlorine because I am on a well water system. That said, I have extremely hard water that actually causes physical damage to my plumbing fixtures. Hopefully, that will be remedied once I complete construction of my new water treatment system. The pitcher was easy to assemble and was soon put into use. I could immediately taste the difference in the water. It is nice to look into the clear pitcher and see only clear water. My morning tea actually tasted like tea and no hard water scum formed on the top of the tea in my cup. Nice job!

Worst design of a Brita water filter, in the last few years. Like a baby tippy cups
I would rate this as an okay product. It's funny that a company that is most well known for its water pitchers, feels the need to produce a worse product every time they reinvent it. Narrow filling outlet, rounded bottom, means that every time I fill it, it's either trying to tip over, after I've had to perfectly align it under my kitchen faucet. Obviously, the engineers, don't create these products, produce a few of them, and are actually forced to use them for several months, before they are Mass produced. Hopefully another company will come up with a better product, because this isn't it. The one they produce 6 years ago was better than this garbage. Too much hassle, for trying to clean up water quality for my family, dog and plants.

Safe drinking at an affordable price
I bought this Brita water Pitcher & Filtration System because it's the newest innovation that also eliminates lead from water. I actually by my water by the gallon now, because our wells now have forever chemicals. I stopped drinking tap water, because water is all I drink now besides my morning coffee. I use this Filtration system for my bottled water to get rid of the plastic particles they say are from the plastic bottles. I hope it's helping. The filters are easy to use & my water tastes really clean. The pitcher fits nicely on my fridge shelf & doesn't take up too much space, it's got good water flow & the quality if the product so far is really good. I have no complaints & highly recommend it.

Great way to improve the taste and quality of everyday drinking water
I have been using this Brita 10 cup water pitcher to keep filtered water in the refrigerator, and it has become part of my daily routine. The pitcher holds enough water that I am not constantly refilling it, while still fitting comfortably in the refrigerator door. The filtered water tastes noticeably better than straight tap water, and I like having cold water ready throughout the day. The Everyday Elite filter is easy to install and replace, and the pitcher is simple to refill. The lid stays in place while pouring, and the handle is comfortable to hold even when the pitcher is full. Compared to buying bottled water, this has been a more convenient and cost effective option while also reducing plastic waste. It has encouraged me to drink more water since I always have filtered water available. Pros 1. Improves the taste of tap water 2. Large 10 cup capacity reduces frequent refills 3. Fits well in most refrigerator doors 4. Easy to refill and replace the filter 5. Great alternative to buying bottled water Cons 1. Filtering takes a few minutes after each refill 2. Replacement filters add to the long term cost Overall, this is a reliable water pitcher that is easy to use and works well for everyday hydration. It provides better tasting water, reduces the need for bottled water, and has been a great addition to my kitchen.

Came with a broken piece but seems to still work with out it.
My sister n law got me started with these. She had a different brand and I thought the more expensive the better. Over all the system seems to be working well but they either sent me a used one which is gross and crappy because I paid bran new price or there were damages to the new one. It seems to work fine but you can Def see some of the plastic was broken. For the price I thought it would have a much sturdier feel than it does its pretty flimsy feeling. I do plan on getting another filter pitcher but at this time not sure if id get this brand again. Ill try it for awhile and go from there but so far my first ordering experience wasn't the greatest. No i did not reach out to customer service. I don't have the time to re- box and drop the package at a mailing location to send the origonal back. By the time I get out of work they are always closed.

Was doing good until I noticed a freaking crack in it
I bought this in January 2024 (so almost 2 months ago at the time of writing this). I wanted to stop drinking from plastic bottles. I settled for this one because I wanted something inexpensive but with good reviews until I could afford to get water filtering put in the sink where I live. I live in the Southeastern US and the tap water tastes like metal pool water. You can smell it. I was shocked at how good the filtered water is. I was fully prepared to return this and didn't expect it to be able to make our gross water tolerable, but I was amazed that it does! I don't know if it took some getting used to, or if the pitcher needed more times than the instructions say to run water through it before it's good to go, but by this afternoon I was fully drinking only this for water and enjoying the extra money in my pocket no longer being spent on packs of plastic bottles. This afternoon as I was going to fill it back up, I noticed that the pitcher is cracked. I don't throw this thing around and I treat it with care. I put some of that tape on it that's made for leaks for now and I have emailed Brita for support, as I am now currently outside of my return window through Amazon. I will update my review once I hear back from Brita and see what they have to offer for a resolution. At this point, I am pretty frustrated that this is happening so soon after buying it, but hopefully Brita support will come through for me. Edit (3 weeks later): Contacting Brita support went well, but it was annoying to deal with their forms with the information for my pitcher with the little information you get from the Amazon order. Their forms to get the process going are not Amazon order friendly. The names of the pitchers on their side are not the same as what it says here, so it took me 20 minutes to figure out and hope that I was telling them the right model that was in question for the warranty. They offered to ship me a replacement straight out. They said the replacement would fulfill the warranty, and any further issues with the replacement pitcher would not also be guaranteed to be covered. I haven't dealt with warrantys much before, but that didn't exactly make me feel good to read given that my first pitcher from them only made it 3 months. That being said, they did say that if anything happens to the replacement that I could reach out to them all the same. So they told me to wait up to 14 business days for the replacement. Today was about that much time. I emailed to ask for a status update, since tracking was not provided for the replacement. The way their reply was worded was a little confusing, but I get the impression that they may have or may not have attempted to send the replacement; the replacement pitcher model is now apparently out of stock (even though it is apparently quite purchaseable from Amazon as I type this); and now I will be sent a refund check (hopefully). If I do or do not manage to get that, I will edit this again to update. Regardless of the outcome, I'm leaning towards never buying a Brita pitcher again if I can stand it probably. Edit 2: It has been 7 business days since I was told I would receive a refund check by mail. There is no tracking available on this. I will reach out if I don't receive it within the 14 business days. As I type this, the same pitcher is still readily available to order through Amazon. I ended up finding out that while I was waiting 14 business days for my replacement pitcher to arrive originally, that apparently the fulfillment center cancelled the request for the pitcher to be sent to me all together because they claimed it was out of stock, and I received no notification of this (nor did they notify the agent who I had been working with, I think; or if they did, they didn't notify me either). The professionalism of the person I corresponded with at Brita seems to have been top notch and they claimed that they would be sharing details of this experience with their team. No amount of professionalism can make up for how bizarre this whole situation is though. I will update when I do or not get the check.

Pleasantly surprised!
After a few weeks of owning this I can say honestly I really like it. I wanted to cut out buying bottled water and decided to give this a try after reading reviews. Initially, I was worried how it would taste. It tastes good! And I am a snob when it comes to the taste of water. Pros: -The Elite filter doesnโt produce black specks in the water which I didnโt like about a water filter I had years ago. -I love that the Elite filter also removes lead. -It filters fast when re-filling the water. -Tastes good -The pitcher fits into our fridge. Check measurements before buying to make sure it will fit in yours. - Itโs easy to clean. -It has cut down on buying bottled water. So it has saved us money. The cons: -We are a big water drinking family and the jug does need to be filled multiple times a day. Thatโs the only con for us and not a big deal to fill the jug. Not a con because Iโm not sure yet, but The filter says it lasts six months, but I doubt it will last that long for our level of usage. A worry I have is how long the change filter indicator will last and if it could be replaced if it stops working. Definitely recommend! Happy not to be lugging the 40 pack of water bottles from Costco anymore!

IMPORTANT: Read This Review Before Hitting The Order Button
Let me start by saying that this was my first Brita and I am extremely happy with this purchase. However, there are some easy mistakes to be made here -- some of which I noticed in other reviews -- and I want to share a few things I learned through the purchase and initial setup process. The most important piece of information I can relay to you is that if you are looking at the 10 Cup Pitcher, there are actually two different models at the same price. I picked the wrong one and it wasn't until I read a review that I realized I should have picked the newer version. Fortunately, I was able to cancel and re-order. The newer version you want is the Pitcher with the SmartLight. You'll notice owners who just purchased their Brita ask why the indicator light is not included. The SmartLight is pretty darn important as it keeps track of the life of your filter, reminding you when it's time to replace it. The next important piece of information I want to share is how much water can be filled in this pitcher. If you read the instructions, it tells you to fill the water to the fill line (there is a tab with a fill line in the top reservoir). If that was all you did, you would notice that you only have 6 cups of water instead of 10. What I didn't realize until I contacted Brita is that you can keep filling the Pitcher after the initial. I measured out 10 cups which took almost two fills. You'll know that you have the measurement right as the water should reside 1 inch below the round part of the top reservoir. Inserting the Elite filter was simple. Just be certain to line up the plastic tabs in the reservoir with the slots in the filter. You should have a snug fit. Push down to make certain it's airtight. Though the Brita is not the best-rated water filter out there (that would go to Zero Water), the new Elite filter lasts 6 months, effectively removes more contaminants than ever before, and as such, situates itself as the best bang-for-the-buck brand. Keep in mind Brita does not filter out fluoride. As someone who is not a fan of the taste of tap water, I was extremely surprised by how good the filtered water tasted. I have finally gotten to the point where I can stop buying expensive cases of plastic bottled water every month, relying solely on my Brita pitcher. One more thing I should add: Customer support is fantastic. I phoned to ask them about how much water can be put in the Pitcher. They answered the phone immediately and were very helpful in answering my question. Don't hesitate to purchase this Brita Pitcher.

Short-life battery
The idea to go for Elite is no more frequent filter replacement. But itโs meaningless if the indicator doesnโt work. The indicator light was completely off after less than 3 months (most likely end of battery life).

Good capacity with built-in filter life indicator
Acceptable water flow rate through the filter during fill up. Got it with the 6 months Elite filter to reduce filter change frequency. Would be perfect if the jug has a spout lid to dust cover.

Filter lasted 4 months
Easy to use, quick to filter, big enough capacity so I would recommend All I would say is there are only two of us probably not drinking enough water lol and the filter lasted 4 months. Wish it was easier to get the replacements in the UK too - couldn't find on Amazon. Brita UK is a different franchise and basically their water filters and jugs are a waste of time - they don't filter out any contaminants - just make the water 'taste better' whatever that means!
