I tried several brackets unsuccessfully before finding these. They are very easy to assemble and reasonably priced for a custom order; I've seen worse. I like the way the rod detaches from the bracket, giving you ample room to drill in the screws, AND MOST OF ALL, the bracket design is compact enough to drill onto the stud with plenty of room to spare. I used several 2x4s as shelves and used a 1/2 sized drill bit to accommodate the brackets. Chisling the bracket slots on the 2x4 was also easy since the brackets were so compact. My project came out perfect.

We used two sets of these brackets to support our floating mantel that is 7ft long 8in deep and 3in thick. They hold the wood very well. Definitely require precise drilling of holes most easily done with a drill press. We have the brackets secured into studs so they are held very secure to the fireplace. Definitely will move very minimally if pulled or hung on but feels sturdy and solid.

This installed easily. Perfectly aligned and looks great. I was nervous about doing my first floating shelves from scratch, but this product was great. The end plates worked well and was perfect for each stud.

I do not recommend these for dry wall at all. The accurracy these demand is severe. If you are off by a smig the brackets lossen in the drywall when you try to mount your shelf, very unforgiving. I took a chance on these for drywall mounting and failed. Even when mounting in studs I suspect many will experience frustration. Also keep in mind you do need to route the back of your shelf to mount flush. I'm going with pipe mounts now.

This rod I am showing in the picture is suppose to be threaded to receive a set screw. I was at the end of a project for a customer when I discovered this. Luckily, I had a tap and is set on hand to correct this problem. The issue being is that I should have never done a task that was suppose to be already done.

This is a pretty slick way to execute floating shelves. It was a little challenging to get everything lined up and level. Using the set screws works OK for marking where you need the hole, but you really need a few extra hands to get it done. Obviously drilling the holes is challenging to be perfectly parallel. I used a drill press to drill smaller pilot holes, but didn't have the travel length to swallow the extra long drill bit that was needed.The way the actual screws are on the top half of the support bracket makes the shaft the shelf slides on tend to tilt upward. I also tried using drywall anchors on one of the posts. It looks like this might work OK, but it is definitely not as tight as hitting a stud and should be avoided if possible.In sum, I expect this to work well for me. It looks really sharp, but it took some tweaking to get it level and that seems to have compromised it's structural integrity.

Brackets work very well. Post is a little long, it requires shortening with a hacksaw. Overall, easy to install and sturdy.

Installed the shelves today. Bracket install was straight forward. I marked inside and outside of shelf brackets on shelf on my index mark and used a doweling jig to bore the holes.I would recommend tightening the post with a wrench after installing the bracket.Great product and my client is happy.
