Very good value, though it arrived one day later than scheduled for prime delivery.The item does not smell out of the package as some have had issues with these types of cable locks.Fit and finish seems good, quality remains to be seen over time.I find the issue people have of not being able to remove the key when unlocked a security feature. You can remove the key by putting it back in the lock position after removing it from the laptop. When you engage the lock, you want to make sure it is in the right position due the swiveling mid-piece. By the lock not releasing the key if it is unlocked you can be sure when you pull the key out the lock is engaged, otherwise the whole lock comes out of the Kensington slot.

While this lock isn't as heavy duty as one of the $35 name brand models, it's substantial enough to do the job of keeping a laptop safe from a casual thief. That's all any cable lock can ever hope to do! Despite some negative reviews by folks who apparently have trouble using simple locks, this one works precisely as advertized and as expected. It's a good value for the price, decently made and simply packaged. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 only because the lock is not as sturdy as the more expensive models (but then, it's much cheaper to buy and will still get the job done). If you want a 5 star lock, pay a 5 star price. Otherwise, there's nothing wrong with tahis one.

I've read the many reviews on this product and quite a few others like it and frankly more than half are people that didn't even fully look at the item. It works perfectly. the key does indeed come out when it is locked. my laptop is secure when using this though admittedly it is not foolproof - kinda like bike locks, if someone really wants your bike they will find a way around your lock. it is not pretty but it's a security device O.o

Got two of these and they BOTH fell apart within 30 days. Complete JUNK! The only thing holding these things together is a single small pin which quite literately falls apart with routine handling. They break apart AT THE LOCK so that makes these items little more than decoration. When the first lock did it I thought maybe I had dropped it, or it got banged against something while it was loose in my tote bag, but then I actually saw the second one FALL apart immediately after I locked my laptop with in, I knew these items were either completely defective or just extremely low quality. Now I know and so do you. Avoid wasting your money.

I was disappointed upon receiving my laptop lock, which (rather than the solid six foot cable advertised) has a thin cable that is barely 3 feet. The lock is cheap and flimsy, and doesnt securely lock to my laptop- although I can get the key out when locked. The lock does not lock easily with the key, and I have to fiddle with it and wiggle the key around to get the lock to turn. I'll be honest, I'm disappointed with the product, although I can't say that I paid very much for it and I think it will do it's job of deterring the random person from walking away with it, simply because it will appear more secure.

The quality of this lock is far beyond my expectations!!! It is so sturdy and in quite good quality. I was a little worried when reading the reviews. But I think I made the right choice, spending so little money but gaining such an extraordinary product. The traditional key mode is easy to use. Mine is a toshiba laptop and there is no problem when connecting it with the lock. Highly recommend.

This lock works just as advertised for what you pay. It may not be the best on the market but you cant beat it for the price you pay if you are only needing it to lock up something and don't plan on taking it off and on. I have used it on my Xbox 360 S to lock it to my tv so that it cant be stolen. I do not plan on taking it off very often so for my reasons it works perfectly. If you are looking for the same type of use for this item i would recommend it, if you are using it for an expensive laptop that you are worried about getting taken and will be locking and unlocking often i would suggest spending a few more dollars for a larger gauge chord and better lock.

This is my second purchase of this cable lock and found that it meets my needs. I have attached it to my NAS for security. It feels like it is built with quality. I have purchased other brands before and found them loose when you turn the key. With this product it feels secure and turns smoothly.

The lock appears sturdy and we'll constructed. If you get more than one mark the cables and the keys some keys for others and can get a but stuck when that happens.
