This item was purchased from a large business inventory reduction sale. This is a brand new unit in a new unopened original box. I do not know the history of it. The box also reads, Works with your existing cooler to reduce algae and mineral build up, extend pad life, and reduce water usage. It is also labeled, "For use only in evaporative coolers that are equipped with an overflow stand pipe and gravity drain". I am not able to test it. It only comes with what is shown in the pictures. I have more than one of these and so the one you receive may not exactly match the pictures, but it will also be new in the box.
