True to weight
I recently got involved in the national free fitness group for men called, F3 Nation. One of the weekly activities/events is rucking. I had no idea what that even was till I went and borrowed another guy's 30lb weighted backpack. Wow! What a workout.I ordered these and combined them with 10lbs of a dumbell plates I already had and put them in a backpack where they don't move around too much.+ The two(2) 8.75lb plates are supposed to be 17.5lbs combined and I put them on the scale and that is what I got.In contrast I ordered a 25lb ruck plate from some China brand it weights 24.3lbs.This really made me appreciate the quality control with this brand!+ The plates are well cut/shaped and will fit in a weighted vest perfectly.I don't have a weighted vest, but these are thin enough you might be able to fit two on the front and two on the back to get closer to 35-40lb vest. But I guess it would depend on the vest too.OVERALL:I recently read more than one article that says if you simply walk with a weighted pack, you'll expend 2-3 times as many calories in an hour than if you only walked without the added weight. Not to mention you could slip off your weighted backpack/vest and do shoulder press, chest press, etc....meaning you can add a lot of variety to your rucking/walking as you increase the intensity of your cardio and strength building through the simple addition of weights like this.

Fits great.
These are good solid steel plates. I got the heavier thicker plates to put in my tactical vest which I think will weigh somewhere around 15 lbs. they fit great in the vest. The name in cut into the plates so they are not meant to be used to put in the vest to stop rounds coming at you. It’s clearly printed on each plate. If your looking to get a good solid set of steel plates for your tactical vest this would be a great choice. I would most definitely recommend getting.
