This thing is great. Does exactly what it says it does. In my case, I couldn't get my major computer manufacturer to recognize that my laptop, which had been BSODing since I got it, was in fact suffering from a hardware issue. I had performed all software remedies and thus ruled out all OS/software potential issues and was convinced that hardware was the culprit. Especially since the BSOD error seemed to indicate hardware all along. I was annoyed because I had purchased the extended three year hardware warranty and felt that they weren't honoring it. After receiving the laptop back (they had replaced the main board obvs) it's been working perfectly indicating there was an issue with the previous main board (pre-zapping of course) and that all the other components were fine. What's interesting about that, is it seems the USB Killer only affects the main board (at least in my case). Any way, I'm not sure I'll ever have a use for this thing again but even if I only use it this one time, it was well worth the money to get my major computer manufacturer off their butts to do something to fix my 4 month old laptop that was never right to begin with.

Just opened it and it is too late to return. Missing the tester and does not work at all - tried on an old hard drive - nothing.

Scary for people and dangerous for technology and it works, and when i try it on one of the phone and he destroy completi and i was shocked to see it, and after you can't save the files and can't fix it, is damaged for ever, and there is nothing you can do to save it.

Worked like a champ

Plugged it into my pc (which was on its last leg). Wouldn't read any USB devices so I was curious if It would work with the USB killer. So I dusted off the case, opened it up and stuck it in. A red light immediately lit up on the USB killer and my PC made a small *tsk**tsk* noise and shut off. I smelled a small amount of electronic burning afterwards. PC is now inop.
