Sufi Poems: A Mediaeval Anthology

Lovely collection. A nice wide selection spanning authors and times. If you haven't read more than Rumi, this is a great way to get your feet wet and see what else the Sufi mystics have to offer.

I love this book

The poems are a gem and some of them really moving. It is a nice book and quite relaxing to reflect in your peaceful space in hectic world we live in. The introductions before each poems are interesting by Martin Lings detailing the historical background to authors. However, what would had made this book outstanding is Martin Ling's commentary on each of the poems and what it means as some of the poems are very deep in meaning (although he very briefly touches on at the introduction, but is unfortunately lacking in detail).

The biographical details of the poets were fantastic.

Lovely selections of touching and thoughtful poems. Translation is in old English.

Excellent reading & knowledge

Bought for a friend, excellent book, real spiritual with deep meaning.
