T1027 Rotating Rigid Sewer Pipe Bayonet Adapter with 3" Male Thread x Bayonet Hooks , Black

Finding a straight screw-in type adapter like this was a chore, as most are angled. Other straight connectors resemble this adapter, but are rubber and non-threaded, for quick connection. They work well, but on occasion, pop out under draining water pressure, leaving a mess (especially when dealing with nasty poo water). This fitting eliminates this problem. Screw-in is solid and the quick-connect to drain hoses does swivel well, allowing for hose twisting. No leaks as of yet and holding up well.

The original fitting that I got from the camper dealership was a two-prong, 3" fitting. It leaked terribly. When I installed my new four-prong fitting it locked firmly into place, much, much better than the two prong. The four-prong locking collar also has a feature allowing it to swivel independent of the threaded portion of the fitting, unlike the previous fitting. No more leaks. No more stinky mess. I'm sold!

I always see people docking points for how tight the gasket seal is... Here’s the thing: not every sewer connection on every RV is the same. Sure they’re supposed to be, but let’s be honest... some of the RV manufacturers use cheaper parts than others and some of those parts don’t have great quality control. The end result is that the knobs the bayonet fitting is supposed to lock into are not always the same distance to the seating edge of the outlet. There will always be minor variances. All that said, my RV has two sets of tanks and therefore two sewer outlets. And guess what, not every connector that seats perfectly on my front tanks will seat perfectly on my rear tanks and vice-versa. This will always be the case for this RV. So, when I buy new fittings or hoses or whatever, I always test fit to see if the gasket will have a tight seal or not before trying to dump any nasty black or gray water through it. If it’s not tight enough, I switch out the included gasket with an every so slightly thicker one. You can get the gaskets on Amazon or just about any RV supply store. A set of four is usually under $5. These are good for every RV’er to keep on hand because even the best hoses or fittings will eventually need a new gasket anyway. Now back to this fitting... Unlike the competition, this one has 4 bayonets instead of 2. 👍 Unlike the competition, this one allows the bayonets to actually rotate. 👍 Just like the competition, I needed to swap out the gasket on one of the two I purchased so I wouldn’t get leaks-no points docked for this (see above).

Difficult to make entirely water tight out of the box. Use some grease on top of the rubber seal.

Model has 4 hooks (instead of 2 for some models) to hold the whole pipe weight better. The hooks swivels which allows you to glue everything else and still be allowed to remove. Standard 3" PVC pipe threads.
