Why did you pick this product vs others?:I am replacing a sliding glass door handle that is only 1 year old that didn't have long enough screws so they sheered off within 1 year of using the handle. Lock functionality:Smooth and perfectly aligned but does not come with a catch plate that goes on the panel the sliding glass door will lock into! Luckily I had one pre-existing and it worked with my catch plate. Quality:Different sized screws allow to fit most situations. Value for money:The price was comparable to locally obtainable mechanisms

Worked perfect, all holes matched up and had the correct screws. You may be able to use some your old screws especially if they been painted to your liking already. During the instructions when they say use the magnet, I just stuck a pencil in there to prevent the hinge or something from falling until I placed the screw in. Lots simpler. I did go to you tube to watch an install first.

Really confusing instructions took awhile to figure out but it’s really held up quality wise!

I bought two for my doors to replace the existing ones that were directive since we bought the house because whoever installed them didn’t know what they were doing or had half a brain.Anyhow, they work perfectly and now the doors open and close with no issues at all! In addition to these I installed an additional safety lock, which I think is a must nowadays!

Perfect replacement for a broken sliding door handle. Pretty easy installation. Only minor issue i had was initially lining up the inside and outside handles so screws would attach…but that was me not the product.This does NOT have a key hole option in case someone is looking for that. Overall I really recommend this product

Original review below for 3 star but I’m downgrading it to 1 star. The mortise is now not working properly. Although the button to disengage lowers the locking it mechanism it doesn’t retract it flush with the door, so sometimes I can open the door and other times it’s stuck. I’m returning this after all.Not plug and play. Although the dimensions look standard, the holes required for the handle are bigger than the holes already in my door and the mortise is a bit too snug. In the end I used my old handle and just replaced my broken mortise with this one, but had to jam it through the rectangular opening and doesn’t sit flush with the rest of the door. I think you have to buy these by trial and error. I couldn’t be bothered to return this one.
