Great for keeping your phone at hand for pics when backpacking
I took this on a 70-mile backpacking trip and loved it.The pics from the manufacturer show it mostly attached to backpacks at the chest level but I found it much better to put it on the bottom of one of my shoulder straps so that it rested above my hip belt. Not only was this more comfortable but it left the phone in convenient reach of my hand, making it easy to quickly grab the phone for pics. This position also made it easy to run a charger cord from a solar panel array connected to my backpack. The downside of the position was that, when I took my pack off, the phone would be near the bottom of the pack so I had to pay attention not to put the bag down in a way that the phone would get in dirt or mud.Attaching and detaching the phone is easy. To attach it, position the phone perpendicular to the part connected to your strap, slide the circle on the back of the phone into the slot of the part attached to the backpack, and rotate 90 degrees to lock it, and do the reverse to detach it. Even without locking it, the phone was secure enough that I mostly didn't bother to lock it so I could more quickly remove it to take pics.On my iPhone 12, I didn't find that the part connects to the phone ever obstructed the camera, but it did sometimes obstruct the light when I was using it as a flashlight. However, the part that connects to the phone is flexible and you can easily shift it around to avoid any such obstructions. A minor inconvenience at worst.A cool additional feature would be finding some way to make this waterproof. When it rained, I simply took it off and put it in a pocket under my rain gear, which made taking pics during rain challenging. I didn't test it out, but it does seem like a waterproof phone case would fit, so that'd be one potential solution.

Not perfect, but a pretty good bet
This does as advertised. Quick access to a phone on a shoulder strap (not sure why backpack makers are not all over this as an accessory or addition, The phone is everyone's GPS now, right?). Easy to store and withdraw phone when needed. The rubber will last 100 years, so no wear and tear possible. Two negatives: 1) The rubber that encases the phone overhangs the screen in the corners, so some functionality is decreased (using microphone to enter destination on map, for instance); 2) the phone can become dislodged from the case if you slide against something, say in a narrow passageway, or if you are carrying something on your shoulder and it rubs the case. It is rare, but it has happened to me.

Doesn’t fit the camera for the iPhone13
I like the strong rubber grips. But the rubber grips cover up part of the camera on the iPhone13. It’s awesome if only it fit my iPhone camera. Great product for someone else .

Incredibly useful
Love this phone holder, I have one on my dog walking sash and my hiking backpack. It is seriously strong, secure, and the only risk to your phone is if you fall and land on it, because this strap will not let go of it or let it fly. I can twist it off to use the phone or take photos and pop it on again quickly (* it doesn't block camera lens). It is really well constructed, my only criticism would be to add a key pocket and ability to make it even tighter on the strap closure.

Use it! But watch the placement on straps
I love this item - the rubber wraps around the phone perfectly and the slide-and twist is something you get used to quickly and works flawlessly! So much better than fumbling for your phone on the side pouch of your backpack, which I did for years. That was lame.My only complaint is that I place this high on a backpack strap (over the chest strap), and the rubbing of the item on my chest creates a hot spot. I’ve taken to putting a lightweight rag (my trail ‘wash’ rag) between the strap and my chest. I’ve hiked ~40 miles like this, no problem.

Covers camera, clumsy locking mechanism, not worth it at all.
the strap that holds the pone covers the charging port and the camera and part of the screen information Also the locking mechanism is counter intuitive and loads horizontal then twists vertical instead of just sliding down in a more natural way

Backpack Clamp for iPhone is Handy
I hike a lot but it's hard to dig out my phone to take photos or to check my trail map app. This backpack clamp for my phone makes it so that my phone is within easy reach, right at my shoulder, and it's a snap to grab it onto out it back. Love it!
