who wouldnt love billy,?
A clever book, no doubt, clever in that it's more Pamela Donnelly's autobiography than billy's. For every one page about him, there are more than twenty about her. I have no problem reading her autobiography, but let's be honest here...who is this book about?

Great man, mediocre book
Billy Connolly is a very funny comedian and has had a fascinating life. His relationship with his wife, who is a therapist, is also really interesting. But the book is not really well written. So good info for the fan, but not a great read. I'd listen to Connolly's many interviews about his life history instead.

Bravemouth
Not elegant writing, but kind and quite true to life, as far as we know, about the comedian. Like when he refused to pay to watch a tiger eating a goat on holiday, and went out on a trail that might be used by free tigers hoping to see one. Only as it grew dark did it occur to the man that tigers stalk people and anything else moving. This is a nice lighter read about travel and family and the world of entertainment, which can be read in stages as we get time. We follow a year or so of activity, in Pamela's own words, but sometimes look back at how far the Glasgow entertainer has come. This is an unbiased review.

Entertaining look at a "year in the life" of Billy Connolly
Arguably one of Scotland's most famous exports, Billy Connolly's life and adventures have been well documented in print, in his stage acts, and television shows created for British audiences. While not so well known in the US, he has been a huge star in Great Britain for decades. This book, lovingly written by his wife Pamela Stephenson, seems to take Billy's familiarity for granted. Rather oddly constructed for a biography, Bravemouth gives an interesting insight into their marriage and into Billy's evolving relationship with himself as he ages, cleans-up, and "embraces" Hollywood. The book focuses a great deal on their trips and in particular on Billy's extravagant 60th birthday party.More a "year in the life of" rather than a true biography, this is a witty and winning look at the irreverent Billy Connolly. Full of color photos, this will be a welcome read for any fan.

Not what i expected!
I bought this book on the back of reading Billy, if you want to learn more about Billy Connolly - do not buy this book! Its basically an analysis of Pamela's thought's and manipulations of Billy. If you want to read what her psychological opinion on Billys behaviour is then this is the book for you, if not save your money!
