essential
I've been reading THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER for all my adult life and would be lost without it. I really do miss getting it daily since the change to weekly but still find it most informative and entertaining.

The Hollywood Reporter - Kindle Edition (works on Kindle Fire and iPad)
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I really enjoy this magazine. "The Hollywood Reporter" is one of the most well-known and respected Hollywood publications. If you're interested in film, music, or television (or if you work in the entertainment industry), then you really should have access to this magazine. There are a lot of ads (of course), but once you get past those there is a lot of useful and up-to-date information on the entertainment business. The Kindle edition allows you to read the magazine conveniently on your tablet devices.Since THR is an oversized publication (something like 10 x 13" if I recall correctly), they can fit a lot on a page. For this reason, I'd suggest you get use the biggest screen possible. It works much better on the 8.9" Kindle Fire than it does on the 7" model. You can also read it on the iPad (just get the Kindle app from the App store) - but again, it's much more enjoyable on a regular iPad than it would be on an iPad mini. You can switch between what I'll call "Normal" mode and a "Plain Text" mode. Normal mode shows the formatting exactly as it is on the print edition, with all the correct formatting, graphics, and imagery. It's nice to look at, but not always easy to read if your screen size is small. So the Plain Text mode takes the magazine and puts the content in a context that's much easier to read - the most important element is that the text is larger.**The Video included shows actual screenshots from the Kindle Edition of "The Hollywood Reporter" (on the Kindle for iPad app).

Print version has no industry information like the older version. Not worth subscribing if you are in the industry.
Years ago, the Hollywood Reporter print subscription had everything any pro or aspiring pro in the movie business needed to know. The current print version is more for movie fans than the industry trade it used to be. You must subscribe to the digital online version to get the industry information instead of the print version now.
