Great Overall Mat, Very Durable and Easy on Joints
After looking at a bunch of higher end hitting mats, I stumbled across a recommendation on the Flight Deck for their price, quality and durability. I've hit probably 1,000 or so iron shots off the turf itself and the only noticeable "wear" is a handful of the tops of turf fibers have frayed slightly and it's a lighter shade of green where I've almost every single shot off of. But there is no dips or crater in that spot. There has also been no smudging on the irons as can happen with other mats. Another big thing was that there seems to be little to no shock to my hands, wrists or elbows on fat shots, which is a big plus as it's prevented fatigue and injury. The turf top from the floor is roughly 1.75in, so I got a .75in thick piece of plywood and cut out a hole for the Flight Deck and then a cheaper mat to use as a stance mat and cut a hole out for the Flight Deck fibers. Works really well for a budget build!

Seems very good
I've hit probably close to 1000 shots off this mat since buying it and there is no visible wear aside from slight discoloration. Decent physical feedback, less painful for wrists and elbows.

Solid hitting mat
This mat is very sturdy and is also larger than you might think. Very good construction and should last a long time if you take reasonable care. It does sit about 2" above the ground due to the thickness of the "grass." So, the ball will actually be a trifle above your feet. I got it yesterday and used it outside for about an hour with irons and woods. I stood on a couple of thick door mats to level my feet with the mat. I put the mat on concrete and it did not move when hitting the ball. Later, I moved to grass and it also worked fine. It is definitely quality construction. I especially like that the mat is in a frame, which will prevent fraying and curling. The tee works well and is easily removed for iron practice. Overall, this is a very good practice mat. I will update if my opinion changes.

Preserve your body while practicing!
A lot of times we don't have the luxury of hitting off real grass and that's a shame because hitting off grass doesn't send vibrations back into your body like a pad on concrete like most closed driving range. Comes fiberbuilt, the next best thing. I never even knew this alternative existed until recently playing at a premium public course. After hitting their range I notice a section of their hitting mats were like a tall bristle which allows the club to glide through the bristle while allowing proper face contact. A little research showed these were the $1k fiberbuilt model. Luckily for us you can just purchase a smaller hitting mat and with a little creativity make your own fiberbuilt station. This is much easier on your body because unlike most hitting mats on concrete this doesn't bounce and send a shockwave back into your arms/body. It does require you the hit a more pure shot and can have a little learning curve but hitting on this mat translates to pure strikes on the real thing. The only downside would be the interacting the ball to the ground, you'll need a traditional mat for that. I would highly recommend you try one of these if you practice often and find yourself overly sore from the hitting vibrations from a standard mat. One you've hit off a fiberbuilt there's no going back. The only downside is matching your height to the fiberbuilt!

Great hitting mat, even after 5 years
I figure I've hit over 30,000 full iron shots into a net off this mat over the past 4-5 years. It still works great, and I'm still using it. I made a youtube video a couple of years ago that goes into a bit more detail; it's pretty easy to find if anyone cares, but here are the high points for me: - Very durable. The construction/connection points of the bristles is a lot less exposed to club impact forces than the parts of a traditional carpet-style mat. I've had mine for 4-5 years of fairly heavy use, and it's only now getting to where I'm thinking of replacing it. - The club head actually gets below the ball on this hitting mat, just like on a real grass tee/fairway, so it's more realistic than a lot of carpet-style hitting mats. If your low point is behind the ball, the ball will actually impact higher on the face, instead of the club head simply sliding across the surface and still hitting the sweet spot as a lot of carpet-style mats will do. - Much easier on the joints. Main drawback is that this is thicker than a lot of hitting mats, so without some sort of surface adjusting method, the ball will by default be above your feet.

Big Problem, Simple resolution
Making a budget sim in the garage, and this was a great addition. Much better feeling than my other 5x5 mat. No pain thus far. Two complaints- 1. The tee placement bothers me. Every swing, I hit the tee after impact, no matter where I hit from on the deck. It does not necessarily impact ball flight, but I get annoyed at the noise and the constant clunk. I decided to just take the tee out. Does not take real tees so I have resorted to not hitting driver on the sim. Just three wood. Plan to cut down a rubber tee a bit lower and just place on top of the mat instead of the provided hole. 2. The grass also seems very long. The ball seems to be totally propped up way too high on this Flight Deck, but if that is what it takes to keep away pain, I am all for it. Just seems more prominent than other Fiberbuilt mats. All in all, not a bad mat for someone on a budget. I plan to upgrade to a Fiberbuilt Studio Mat next year which runs $700+

nice mat.
A small hitting mat with a 300,000 shot guarantee. Awesome. I blew through a Callaway in a month, and a Maxfli in 4 days. It is tall. You could dig it in or find a stance mat that is 1.75" thick. I dug it in. Some reviewers deducted stars for being penalized by the mat for "fat shots". Yep, its true. You know where else you're ball flight is compromised when you're too fat? The golf course. Thats the point. Overall I'm very pleased and will try my best to see if the 300,000 shot lifetime is accurate.

adding price gets changing. But overall should be cheaper product.

I've been using this outdoors for a couple of months now and so far it's been excellent. I initially overlooked this when searching for a mat as it looks kind of odd - but it's the perfect size. Only issue is it's very thick (close to 5cm) but i just dug out a patch for it in the garden level with my feet and it's been perfect (also stops it from moving around). After using other mats this is by far the hardiest - my son and i use it alot and it still looks perfect. Its been outdoors non-stop in the Aussie sun and rain (yes we do get some) and it's held up fine.

I had previously bought a $20 hitting mat off Amazon. It was hard to keep it in one spot, especially if you hit the ball fat. I noticed I wasn’t getting clean strikes ever really. Switched to this fibrebuilt and wow. It feels way better. It’s more sturdy, the included tee is perfect. No more breaking tees, or searching for them when they go flying. Highly recommend this oval mat. For the price I don’t think it can be beat. It does not hurt the wrists or arms at all if you hit it fat.

This is the second hitting mat I've tried. The product has the appearance of an upside yard brush, the stiff fibres are grouped in tufts that are clearly separate from one another when they form the surface. The base is solid and, when fixed to the ground using tees (which requires it to be on grass), doesn't move. It's sufficiently weighty that it might not move on a hard surface, but they recommend you buy their stand mat to go with it for this type of use. One problem is that, if you're using it outdoors on turf, the ball is now a good inch or two above your feet; so you either need to dig it into the lawn or get a mat to stand on that will raise you to the same height as the ball: alternatively, just practice playing off uphill lies! I'm yet to completely solve this problem, because it's important to have a solid, grippy base to hit from to generate a solid contact. Regrettably, the mat is very unforgiving on fat shots (i.e. when you make contact slightly behind the ball); the club head speed drops dramatically. On the upside, the feel is such that you start to tune in to the sensation of hitting your golf club on a stiff brush just before making contact with the ball, so with the right swing adjustments it should be an aid to improvement. On the positive side, these shots are not as jarring as they would be on a traditional rubber-based mat. I can confirm that the mat works well with a launch monitor. I'm using it with Skytrack and, other than needing to stand the unit on something to get sufficient height to put it level with the hitting surface, it provides good readings. The laser can be a little hard to see on the fibres, but once you know where it is, the shape of mat is such that you know exactly where to place the ball anyway. The adjustable height tee that comes with it is excellent. It can be removed when hitting irons of the surface.

Good build quality and useful for small practice area. Works OK for small tiled area I have to practice in with no slippage issues on the base. Turf is quite high above the ground but this hasn't been a problem.
