Crown Bees Mason Bee Holes, Insert Refill

I have had about 15% of my tubes of bees fail to hatch out in the Spring. This was due to reusing cardboard tubes year after year and spreading mites, and disease among my Mason Bee Colony. Now I but these paper liners and slip them inside my brown cardboard tubes. At the end of the season I can slip them back out and store in my unheated garage, safe from birds and squirrels. On March 1st, I put them back out and let them hatch. After the paper tubes are vacated, I dispose of them.

I ordered 8mm mason bee tubes and inserts but the boxes that were sent were clearly labeled (by Crown Bees, the manufacturer) as 6mm leaf cutter bee tubes without inserts. The vendor (mrsethq) had put their own label on the boxes identifying the contents as mason bee tubes with inserts. These tubes are too small to attract mason bees.

The tubes and inserts are perfect, but I will need many more next year. I have 9 gardens around the property, with insectary hotels all over the place. Many new insectary structures are being made, and I use these, interspersed with various 6 inch length bamboo tubes, of various diameters.

Paper tubes are a necessity to go inside the Solitary Bee Kraft Tubes.

These liners fit perfectly into the cardboard tubes. Couldn't ask for better product.

The product was just like the description. I have built a bee house and have inserted the tubes as per instructions. I have not noticed any activity yet but it is so hot here (Mid 90's) I haven't gone out to much.
