Release Date: 5/15/12 Nearly a decade deep in the rap game, Mike has released five critically hailed records and won a Grammy for best Rap Collaboration with Outkast for the song "The Whole World." But, in no uncertain terms, Mike will tell you that R.A.P. Music is his finest accomplishment. He'll even call it a "classic." Of course, every rapper calls every one of their albums a classic. The only difference is that Mike's right.

R.A.P. Music is super!
My first review was explicit so here is the clean version. This cd/lp/mp3 is bad! I can't remember the last time I listened to a compilation all the way through, but every song on R.A.P. Music is infectious. I haven't heard rap music this good since Ice Cube's The Predator or 2Pac's All Eyez on ME, but I don't buy a lot of rap music. I am very selective about the rap music I purchase. I was listening to NPR doing a review on Killer Mike's R.A.P. Music and as soon as I heard the words "I never had a religious experience" I was hooked. They played portions of some of the other songs and I knew I had to purchase the mp3's.This guy is intelligent. The lyrics are timeless and the beats are infectious. Now, what I don't like about rap music is the cursing UNLESS, it is done seamlessly to enhance the storyline. I don't hear the cursing on R.A.P. Music because the lyrics are so meaningful and the flow is so smooth, like a really good Scotch (seriously, it's that good). I could've bought the clean version but why? The clean version of this compilation will confuse the translation. So, there's no need for a clean version. Listen to it raw or not at all. You will not be disappointed. However, I do wish I could purchase/download the instrumental version because all I music purchases are in the mp3 format because it's so convenient. The instrumental version is only available on the LP as far as I know. Nevertheless, 5 stars for an outstanding body of work. Now I'm going to listen to it again! Thanks Killer Mike. You rock!

Vinyl Review: Great Music, Great Sound Quality
I bought this as a Reddit Secret Santa gift. I already own it (bought from a record store) and it quickly became one of my favorite rap records I own. Sounds great and is a nice gift for any vinyl fan with an ear for rap and hip hop. I'm not a big fan of newer rap, but I am super impressed by a select few hip hop artists, RTJ being one. JUST BUY IT!

Not the Killer Mike I remember ..
When did Killer Mike get so deep? I'm probably ignorant but the last time I heard Killer Mike on a track was Chamillionaire's 'Southern Takeover' in which he killed it on his verse. I just didn't think he could produce a record like this one. My jaw literally dropped when I heard 'Reagan.' I know you can learn different things from music, specifically rap music, but this was powerful information he was telling. There is not a dull moment on this album. El-P produces the entire record and he keeps the beats in tune with mics flow and aggressiveness. Solid record that I'm going to be bumping for a while.

One of my all time favorite albums of recent years
This album is classic hip hop material. Every single track is legendary, and this ultimate lead to the greatest that is now Run The Jewels. Mike shows that there's no age limit on hip hop, and he dropped his best album in his late 30's. There's one turn up song, and even that has excellent lyricism. There's a song for every scenario. I've been listening to this album nonstop for the past 2 years, and I can still listen to it like it just dropped to this day.Standout songs are Reagan, Anywhere But Here, Untitled and Ghetto Gospel

Am I not able to rate this above a 5?
Mean beats from EL-P, great flow and lyricism from killer mike. Easily a classic. Amazon will only let me rate out of 5. I would give this a 10/5 for sure. Album isn’t perfect. The choruses can be a bit underwhelming with all the hard hitting beats and loudness from Mike, but the positives still outdo the negatives BY FAR.

Album of the Year
This.Is.Awesome. I love this album. You want slow, we have slower paced. Fast, Mike's got that. Political? Really covered. By far one of my favorite albums of the year. I would advise to anyone looking into this album buy it, support Killer Mike. And El-P made some ridiculous beats, especially considering he made Cancer4Cure at the same time.

Thanks for a real R.A.P. album this year....
New School Ice Cube, God in the Building indeed. Keeping it simple people, listen to Big Beast and Reagan and turn the volume up. Grown people music without the fluff and ghost writing. EL-P did his thing on the boards. Four to five stars (out of five on the ipod) each song front to back. The best album I bought this year period.

This Is How It Should Be Done
"I've never really had a religious experience, in a religious place.Closest I've ever come to seeing or feeling God is listening to rap music."This is the first collaboration between Killer Mike and El-P (who produced the entire album), and it's incredible. This is what real hip hop is. Forget about Jay-Z and Kanye, or Drake or A$ap.Mike and El-P beat any of them hands down.Stand out tracks include :Southern FriedReagan where Mike's anger and scorn come out of every wordR.A.P. MusicAlso check out the album that El-P and Killer Mike produced together under the name "Run The Jewels".It's as good as this, with both Mike and El-P rapping an every track.

Not a bad track on this album
Not a bad track on this album, El-Ps production on here too is just top drawer as it just suits Killer Mikes vocals superbly. Speaking of which, Mikes lyrics and vocal style just leap out and grab you. You can see how Run the Jewels have trampled all in their path from the work on here (El only raps on one track though on this). One of THE best albums I have heard in a long time.

A Great Album
Killer Mike has produced here one of the greatest rap albums of 2012. This album is so hard it is unreal and will take you aback. Killer Mikes raw voice over El-P's heavy beats make for one great album.Check out the best songs on the album which are:Big BeastReaganDon't DieTo get a feel for the greatness of this album
