Cinch Gopher Trap - 6 Pack

These are good traps. They are pretty solid, and should last a long time. They seem to be just as effective as the Macabee traps. Sometimes the trap does seem to be a bit too large, and I have to enlarge the hole to make room for the loop.+I have a large property and am constantly battling gophers. Both these and the macabee traps sometimes fail to kill the gopher. If you don't want to deal with that, wait a good 24 hours before checking the trap.I deducted one star because the traps are somewhat prone to rusting if left out in the rain, and one of mine was missing a metal piece so I was not able to set the trap. I made no effort to send it back or contact the seller because I can probably rig something up to get it to work.Macabee traps are completely powder coated and so they are a little more rust resistant, but these traps are so heavily built, I am sure they will last for a very long time, even if they rust a little.

My first attempts were not successful. But after getting the special knife that the designer suggested, I caught 2 gophers in 2 days and find that there is far less damage to my property from these varmints. I look forward to using it some more but have to wait for them to re-appear. It's amazing how much damage 2 gophers can do. But with these traps, it's an adventure to "check my trap-line"! On my two catches, one was still alive and had to be killed. So if you are tender-hearted, be informed that you may have to dispatch a living gopher!

It really works, just you need be patient and some experience

the size sold in this package is too large for the gophers we have in our vineyard. They work, but not as well as if the ring were the 2.25" size.

I have 30 years in the golf business, and seen many types of gopher control. This trap provides the highest success rate of all that I have used.
