Not useless but not great
In summary this works ok for the price, but the performance of a slightly more expensive sander is much better than this one I got frustrated with this and bought a comparable Skil Random Orbital Sander (SR211601). I tested them side by side on a painted piece of plywood.. Using identical 60 grit sanding discs this sander needed 4-5 passes to remove as much paint as a single pass with the Skil sander. The Skil left much less noticeable swirl marks (much kess vibration). And, the dust collector on the Skil collects most of the saw dust. The dust collector on this model collects 15% and pours out as you lift the sander. .Performance of this closer to a mouse sander. The variable switch is nice but there's no situation where anything less than max is enough. At max its sanding as much as sanding by hand.

Great for the money.
It works as well as any more expensive sander I have used. A little bit bulky and heavy but it puts out power. My only real gripe is with the housing for the dust that comes out. It is cheap flimsy and does not stay shut. Mine fell off so I just let the dust blow where it may and clean up afterward. I tried duct taping it to stay together the dust still flies out. My best solution was to tape a sandwich bag over the rear aside from that it really is a good sander I bought this months ago and I use it at least once a week

Great sander, great value.
I've previously owned and in most cases worn out sanders from Black and Decker, Makita, Porter Cable, and most recently 3 Dewalt random orbit sanders. First impression and having used this for about 3 weeks, this is a great sander regardless of the great price's.

Good inexpensive sander
This sander worked well. I was able to adjust the speed on mine, some other reviewers have had problems. It's no louder than any other orbital and the velcro pad is nice and strong. The dust collection goes on and comes off a little funky. I'll buy another just like it if this one fails. For the price how can you go wrong?

Good power
Works great. Much better than my old Black and Decker. Good power and variable speed is nice.

Adjustable speed control at a great price.
I'm suprised that I love this no-name sander. I'm an artist who works in wood and the adjustable speed control allows me to use it on small pieces in unique ways.
