Quirky, fun, light hybrid dance music
This is clearly a debut album, introducing an original, quirky, fun sound overcoming some mixed results... and yet the album has been on constant repeat in my playlist since it was released, and I appreciate it over many other current electronic albums for its creativity and lightheartedness.Consider the first track, Mozart's House, which was their first single (and feels like a first attempt). In this track the band seems to have forced the classical-electronic fusion, with need for some extra finesse. The lyrics are not particularly interesting, even for electronic music, without any particular theme or flow other than throwing out rhyming musical terminology with the beat. Musically, the breaks of classical music feel disjointed, as if pasted into a coarse electronic track for novelty and distraction.Fortunately, subsequent tracks mostly fix these problems, feeling truly *composed* with the band's unique skills, rather than pasted together. The uplifting lyrics flow well, and I consider the autotuned elements to fit nicely in the band's theme (especially well represented in the lilting female vocals in Dust Clears), although the guest artists are mostly superior. The strings are wonderfully evocative accompaniment to upbeat beats (also especially well represented in Dust Clears and Rather Be) with abundant interesting electronic flair mixed in. Several of the tracks also make excellent use of the steel drum or xylophone, for even more melodic-percussive flavor.Sample the best tracks (Extraordinary, Dust, Rather Be, A+E, Cologne, Heart on Fire) to feel the style, and these are easily worth the cost of the album, inspiring constant repeat!

One of the best albums of this century for sure
One of the best albums of this century for sure. I brought it especially for the remastered BBC Philharmonic Orchestra X Clean Bandit Symphony 12 songs that is my favourite live performance ever again. I listen to this album at least twice a week for more than 1 year now, and still could not express how clever this album is. Just as I discovered Rae Morris’s superior live vocal, this album brings me joy all the time and I believe any music listener should absolutely buy this special edition!!!

Great Album - "Stronger" version different on this album than the single version
Fantastic album (at least the version I got, which has a few different tracks)- top notch dance pop with great melodies and the classic sheen makes it more interesting than most dance music. One note- the version of "Stronger" on this album is not the same as the single version that is the "hit." The differences are sublte but pretty obvious one you listen to both back to back. the single version "pops" more.Still, totally worth picking up this album despite the absence of the top 40 version of Stronger.

Where classical meets EDM...
Clean Bandit's sound can only be described as the perfect fusion of classical and EDM.There's an ordered eclecticism to the track list and there are tracks literally here for everyone. From the brilliant opening EDM of "Mozart's House", the pop of "Rather Be" (Featuring rising vocal diva Jess Glynne) and "Extraordinary", the trip hop-esque "Nightingale", to the quirky, child-like sound of "Rihanna".Clean Bandit is certainly one of the freshest albums I've heard in years and with the inclusion of bonus tracks and a DVD, New Eyes is simply a perfect introduction to that infectious Clean Bandit sound. Brilliant!

Great album.
This is a good cd and performance. The melody is strong and tuneful. The group has an attractive vocal tone, and puts real feeling into the lyrics. The lyrics are interesting and meaningful with some punchy phrases. Instrumentally, the album has a rich, full accompaniment that complements the vocal track perfectly. Great electronic tone. The performance quality is high throughout, both vocally and instrumentally. Overall, the album is distinctive and original, and I think it has strong commercial potential.

Can't buy these songs digitally in the U.S.!
I bought this to rip the CD because you can't buy these songs digitally in the US. (The US album is extremely stripped down and missing tons of songs). Not disappointed.

Love listening to this album.
I love this album. It has become my new favorite. It's one where I can listen to all the way through. The songs with guest singers, like Rather Be, are the best. In songs where they do the singing, they rely on auto tune a little too much. The overall quality of the songs and enjoyability of the music is enough to rate it 5-stars.

If you are like me and have always liked the sound of classical ...
If you are like me and have always liked the sound of classical instruments but have never really been into the music this is the album for you. Add to that the use of electronics, a really good helping of dance rhythms and a dash of rap (which in my view goes a very long way) and you have a real winner. There is not a dud track on the album with the possible exception of Outro Movement lll which did not really do it for me, but in 'Rather be' you have a track which is worth the album price on it's own.

Good Record!
Being an old curmudgeon, and being resistant to 'dad dancing', I became strangely attracted to the inspired 'Rather Be' when it charted a few years ago. I invested then in the album, and I found myself enjoying it greatly. Some of the songs aren't great, but the grooves are, and the classical flourishes are genuinely appealing. Good record!

New Eyes, New Ears, New Sounds
Great album. Features Clean Bandit's duet with Jess Glynn for "Rather Be" (Now a popular music choice for Marks and Spencers) and "Extraordinary" featuring their duet with Sharna Bass.
