CamelBak Crux On/Off Valve

Great replacement, and getting it from Amazon means we can spend less time shopping and more time doing other things... like... swimming and hiking! We had our bladders in the fridge and put stuff on top of one, breaking this part. The replacement came in fast and was easy to make!

I bought a Camelbak Rogue 2.0 L hydration pack back in 2016 for my motorcycle trip from Orlando to Sturgis via the Grand Canyon, Moab, and Yellowstone. The unit worked great and a hydration backpack is really nice when you ride with a full coverage helmet. The main complaint I had was that the mouthpiece valve was a 90 degree angle and made getting it up into my mouth with the helmet on difficult. Well 4 years later I decided to see if there was a better mouthpiece and this item looked like it would fit the bill. This valve is advertised as fitting the Crux Reservoir and I have the Rogue old style reservoir. I read somewhere that this valve would only fit the Crux. Well I bought it any way and was able to make it work. The hose nipple is larger but there is enough stretch in the old hose to accommodate the larger size. The mouthpiece is the same. Anyway I'm happy with the result and though I haven't tried it yet with the helmet on the bike I'm sure it will be much easier to use.

The valve works well. I replaced the older style valve with this one since my older one leaked. The instructions are a bit lacking in my opinion. I heated the tube in hot water to make it install on the valve most of the way. The instructions didnt mention heatimng the tubes tho. I couldnt get the tubes on the valve at all without heating them first.

I have been looking for a bite valve replacement for at least a year for my High Sierra "Marilla" hydration backpack. I always end up returning them because they leak, or they break before I can get them installed. This one is sturdy, fits perfectly, and best of all, DOES NOT LEAK. It can be used with or without a bite valve. When it's in the locked position, even without the bite valve, I just shook the excess water out of the little straw, and then not a drip escaped. I'm so excited to be able to use my favorite little backpack again!

Nothing life changing to say here. It is just a part that gets use. This seems to be the one part on my son’s Camelback we have had to replace multiple times. I’m glad we are able to replace just the bite piece vs. the whole valve end. He uses his Camelback for mountain biking competitions, so his rides are around 10-15 miles at a time a couple times a week, and his Camelback takes a beating because of it.

A perfect replacement for the original bite and drink Camelbak nozzles. Heaps easier to control flow and the on/off lever works a treat. Thanks again.
