It's Bob Seeger. This CD is a classic. Roll Me Away.....those in the know, can all relate.

I still like owning physical media and in my opinion CDs are the best and easiest way to do that. LPs are more nostalgic and "fun" for lack of a better word but it's hard to beat the sound quality and convenience of CDs sometimes. Get a good dedicated single disc CD player with a decent DAC and you will be amazed at the sound quality vs. trying use the audio out from that old $20 DVD player from Goodwill. This collection has almost all of the big hits along with a few tracks that aren't as well known. Wish they would have included "Come to Papa" but maybe that one is not quite PC enough these days.

After several decades of waiting for a more thorough anthology of Bob Seger's best hits, at last in 2011, this double CD release is rather impressive and showcases his vast array of compelling output quite effectively. Although the numerous songs that appear (26 songs bisected on the 2 CDs) are well selected and are certainly among his finest offerings, I still felt a bit unsatisfied that each disc had playtimes of barely 1 hour apiece (56 minutes for disc 1 and only 52 minutes for the second CD). In addition, several noteworthy lesser hits of Seger's were left off and could have made this Ultimate Hits offering more comprehensive, such as 1983's #12 hit, Even Now, Sunspot Baby, the 1984 #17 pop soundtrack single, Understanding, the 1986 #13 hit, American Storm, and his more recent #24 hit single from 1991, The Real Love. In spite of these minor omissions, this compilation is certainly better than the first two single CD overviews from 1994 and 2003, respectively. Furthermore, the remastered audio quality of these legendary rock keepsakes is outstanding! All in all, I would recommend this career-spanning overview, titled Ultimate Hits: Rock and Roll Never Forgets, to fans and casual listeners alike!

Splendide compilation, le choix des titres (26) est très judicieux ! Surtout que je ne trouve aucun album studio de Bob Seger qui ne soit réellement essentiel. Bob Seger excelle en public, les albums 'Live' Live Bullet (Bonus Track) et Nine Tonight (Bonus Track) 'Nine Tonight' qui est du même tonneau que 'Live Bullet' (de l'or en barre). La remasterisation de la compilation et des albums 'Live' est absolument géniale! N'hesitez plus, vous ne serez pas déçus.

This is a particular kind of review for a person who, like me, is under the weather, or who has a loved one who is under the weather. You may have come across my review of "The Best of Loreena McKennitt (Deluxe Ediition)". As a guy I never went for that kind of soft and gentle music -- until I had to go on chemo, and now she is what I listen to when the chemo gets underway. Bob Seger's "Ultimate Hits: Rock and Roll Never Forgets" is what I listen to start waking up after the chemo. Long time favorite familiar music with just the right amount of energy. Comforting good old rock an' roll ! I didn't have to go out and buy this one, it was already in my CD collection. And man, when I first listened to it I was very happy with my purchase. This has so many great hits, and hits that were not just popular, but that were really good and have stood the test of time. I get chemo for an autoimmune disease, 6 hours for two days twice a month. And every time this is one of the CDs I listen to. Music that never gets stale!

Took a while to arrive. Very pleased with it
