Authentic Empowerment.....
Gary Zukav has found a better medium for explaining his beliefs. Stories have been the best way to explain every idea since the beginning of time.I have also reviewed Gary Zukav's The Seat of the Soul in detail and reading that review may be helpful in understanding the premise behind Soul Stories. In The Seat of the Soul he explains his basic beliefs and goes into detail about authentic empowerment and how to reach beyond our five senses to become a multisensory person. Throughout Soul Stories, he also promotes the belief that the Universe is alive. To me, this is the presence of God in our lives.Gary discusses intuition, forms of reasoning, the earth school, emotional awareness, responsible choice, harmony, cooperation, sharing, reverence for life, forgiveness, love, trust, marriage, children, kindness and inner richness. It is not surprising that he also includes some health advice, our souls do live in our bodies, so why not create a perfect environment for the soul? We are individual souls sent to earth to fulfill a task or to learn a lesson, which will benefit us in the next life.Yes, I agree that you make your own future through making daily choices and when you have an "intention" you can create a good or bad experience. This book is a blending of Eastern religions with a generous helping of real experiences and a pinch of Christianity. I recommend that if you purchase this book and take this soul journey that you turn on your intuition, logic and perception. Be aware that although there are many truths in many religions, the ultimate truth comes from God. To know truth you must first know God.Gary has done an excellent job in raising awareness of the need to nurture our souls, however he has combined many religions into one book. It is up to us to find our own way on this journey. God created our souls; and therefore he can lead us on the path to Truth. If you are searching to find out what Gary Zukav believes, then this book is very enlightening in that regard.I think his best idea is to view life as a school and that we are here to learn. I also appreciate his encouragement to make the best decision in each moment of our lives. He has changed my life in that regard! I hope you will continue to find truth and meaning in your own life.~The Rebecca Review

Wonderful place to begin . . .
I acquired this set of CDs to listen to while on a long-distance drive. They are very interesting and enjoyable. Zukov teaches moral principles with a series of parables--a long established tool for teaching. The principles he teaches this way are pretty basic, but foundational for us all. For those who feel they're more "advanced", remember that we ALL benefit from review and reminder on the basics. When he got to the subject of men and women that, at times, he came from a more narrow, "traditional" position, which saddened me. This seems to be the one area where he hasn't put away at least some of old fashioned but not necessarily good or helpful attitudes. Otherwise, I must say, this is worth your time. Parents, it will certainly give you additional resources for helping your children understand as well.

A serendipitous helper
I was recommended this book by my boyfriends aunt and trying to be gracious I took down the name and title. I have to say that I was skeptical about the whole self-help book thing. This is not one of them. It doesn't try to change you. It tells you stories, then lets you decide for yourself whether you will take them to heart or not. I am 25 and my mom just passed away. Not knowing how to cope with the grief I wanted to give this a try. I didn't sit down and read this book in one sitting, I read bits of it and it seemed to weave its way into my life. I strongly recommend this book, whether you are going through hard times or not. I have given it as gifts to people in heartache and they seem to really appreciate it. I re-read it all the time, just to go back through. This book will stay in my collection forever.

A breezy read compared to Gary Z's other books
Gary Zukav has mentored me (via writings) since Oprah introduced me to him 20+ years ago in her first "Change Your Life" season. Having read Seat of the Soul a few times before reading Soul Stories, I cannot image how Soul Stories "reads" to a Zukav virgin. In a way it's a Cliff Notes versions of Seat of the Soul. Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed its approachable real world stories about profound concepts. It's a delectable desert to the much-to-chew-on Seat of the Soul. Possibly a good way to be introduced to Gary Z. As with all philosophical writings, I digested Soul Stories very slowly - one story every few days - letting each story stand on its own and sink in. Not intended to be a page-turner. I also cherish Seat and Heart of the Soul. But, compared to them, this was FUN to read.

This book is a gem!
What a wonderful gift Gary Zukav has given us! Its simplicity is its brilliance. For those who have read Gary's other book "The Seat of the Soul" and found it to be a little hard to comprehend, "Soul Stories" has taken all of the most complex concepts of that book and just makes them so much easier to understand. If you haven't read the Seat of the Soul yet, this might be a good place for you to start to get a foundation in Zukav's concepts, but the great thing about this book is that it is so readable and yet stands on its own as an explanation of the concepts of the soul and the universe. I want to thank Gary Zukav for his kind words that have meant so much to me, and I have a feeling that he will see this review if he is meant to see it.

What I Was Looking For...
I’d been working on my authentic power for a few years and hearing Gary’s explanations gave me the vocabulary to put with all I’d been experiencing. It’s an amazing feeling to know you are finally following your soul! Each day feels purposeful and my life makes sense.

Gary Zukav Is A Master Spiritual Teacher
I am a long time student on the spiritual path. Every year I select a writer or group of writers as companions to my dally meditation process. In 2013 I spent most of the year with Gary's books. I started by re-reading Seat of the Soul, Heart of the Soul, Mind of the Soul and finishing with Soul Stories.I recommend all of the books and wish any one that chooses to explore his writings blessings on their spiritual path.

Insightful
I liked reading this novel although it is not as good a read as Seat of the Soul. The content is informative and although it is written in a different style to what I expected, I know I will read it often.
