I bough this because I am directionally challenged. Siri and I have an understanding that if I am driving, she is giving directions. I have cause many multi car pile ups trying to look at the phone while making an illegal turn. With this, it no longer looks like I am texting and instead just lets the world know I drive like Magoo. It is a Perfect fit, doesn't slide around and stays within line of site so less time with eyes off the road checking to see which lane I need to be in. Love being able to see the map/directions when driving.

This doesn't have as much silica gel as you might imagine; narrow ring around "suction" cup. This is one of the better phone holders, I like that your phone/map is on the dash so you don't have to look away from the road too long to navigate. The one issue with that is that the phone is then mostly in direct sunlight on your dashboard so if you're on the highway for a long time and don't have tinted windows your phone may overheat. Overall I love it though and it works for my 30 minute commute just fine. It's very stable and my phone never falls out and it never slips off the dash with sharp turns. It's not super easy to put the phone in it one-handed, so I usually have to make sure it's set up before i get on the road. It doesn't really "stick" to my dashboard, but like i said it somehow never slides and that's almost better because if I need to I can switch it to another car easily.

My smart phone have a better GPS than my car. This product made phone a complete GPS. Just leave it on top of the dash and it's like part of the car. However, this requires a relatively flat 6 to 8 sq in on on the dash to work. You will also need the make sure that there is enough space to mount your phone. This will be the space between the flat part of the dash to the windshield.Update.....I have been using this for more than a year and must say that it is a really good product. I have never bought a better phone holder than this. Just clamp my phone on this whenever I want to use google maps.Recently bought a new car that has android auto. The cable is very unreliable at best so android auto fades in and out. It is very frustrating. Changed cable 3 times and I still have the same proble. So, I gave up and install this in the new car. All I needed to do was to take it off rinse off the dust and I am all set. That was a little oval mark on the dash of the old car but I believe I can clean it off.

Using an iPhone 5S for GPS directions on a trip in place of renting a GPS from the car rental company. Originally thought that the only option was a suction mount iPhone holder that attached to the dash or to the inside of the windshield. Thanks to the large selection of mounts available on Amazon, found this holder that is stabilized with a soft rubber base instead of a suction cup. It held the phone securely. The rubber base prevented the iPhone in the holder from sliding around on the dash. (although an adhesive area can be activated on the base if needed). No suction cup marks were left behind on the rental car.

I bought a couple of these to post two in the vehicle at each side so I can watch gps whether I’m diving or I’m a passenger. It only works well if your dashboard has a flat surface. I have an iPhone 11 max with ottobox protective case. The iPhone is held securely in place. I am a real person reviewing this. I know I have had my doubts on Amazon legit reviews.

This is by far the easiest, most convenient smart phone holder I have ever had. Sits on dashboard and isn't permanently rooted to 1 spot. Is easy to move around, yet has enough stability to stay put, even when I had to slam on the brakes a couple of times. Grips my phone firmly and makes it easy to touch the screen without moving the phone around. I will NEVER use any other type of car phone holder again.

I really wanted to like this more. I wish it didn't slide all over the dashboard without the need to stick it down. It's a little bulky when not in use, but it works great to hold the phone in landscape mode. When it's being held in place, it's hard to get to the volume and screen on buttons.
