The Very Best Of

This Was A Moment In Time That Will Never Be Recaptured!!
This Review is about the Quality of the music on this CD: Not about a problem with Shipping. The Searchers were part of the 60s British Invasion & I consider them to be one of the Best 60s British Bands. Why I waited this long to purchase this.....I don't know but what I do know is it wasn`t because I didn`t remember them because I did...I guess it was simply because I had forgot about them!! Anyone in this Country old enough to remember them from that Era will also remember their songs "Needles And Pins", "Don't Throw Your Love Away", "What Have They Done To The Rain" and "Love Potion # 9' but This Band was/is much more then those four songs. They are Outstanding on "Sugar and Spice" "When You Walk In The Room" "Hearts In Her Eyes' and "Four Strong Winds" also. Practically the entire CD is a pleasure to listen to!! Also The Sound Quality & The Liner Notes in The Leaflet Foldout Are Very Good. This is an excellent timepiece of This Legendary Band and I am going to borrow a Qoute I saw about The Searchers and the music from that Era in general & that Qoute is "And You Will Relive Those Magical Moments Of Your Life That You Might Imagine Could Never Be Recaptured"!!.....And That Is So True!! If You Are A Baby Boomer Buy This Today!!

Not as well done acoustically as I had hoped...
Probably repetitious RE-mastering that has affected the audio in my opinion (I own probably 200 "oldie but goodie" CDs to compare with...Ah well.

Not just one hit wonders....
"Needles and Pins" will always be remembered as their biggest hit in the US, but there are enough hits on this CD to make the purchase worth while.I had forgotten songs like, "When You Walk In The Room" and "What Have They Done To The Rain".This CD brings me back to a time when lyrics were meant to be heartfelt, not censored. The recording is clean and doesn't have the flat mono to stereo sound found on some of the early 60's CDs.My only criticism is it was recorded at a low volume.

... of got lost in the sixties history of bands like the Stones
This was a band that kind of got lost in the sixties history of bands like the Stones, The Dave Clark Five, and the Beatles, but they had some great songs and they are all here. This retrospective is of a band that had some songs that when you hear, you can't help but sing along. You will enjoy.

Very Good Compilation
This is a good, all around Searchers compilation, basically focusing on their Pye years. It is for the casual fan. Those of us who are Searchers fanatics are better served by the 30th and 40th anniversary sets and Hearts in Their Eyes. This comp doesn't really offer any particular rarities etc., but serves as a nice intro to the band's music or is suited to someone who is a generalist collector of The British Invasion.

All of the greatest for sure
All of the greatest for sure, i had all their albums, basically all the classic Brit groups, was gifted with picking the classic groups that would continue to put out top selling albums, look at the Rolling Stones, C Watts looks like he's been embalmed, but they are still playing. This reminded me of some old flames back in the day. It's great always makes my day.

Great group buried beneath Beatles & Stones
These guys can sing great harmonies and are really pretty tight when it comes to being a British Invasion band. Most folks probably remember maybe 2 of their songs, but they offer so much more than that. This CD is the place to re-discover what you might have missed.

All the hits, plus some obscure songs I never heard of before
Their hits were monster hits and they are all on this CD; 2/3's of songs are obscure and should not be on a "Best of" compilation. Still, it's worth the cost just to get the big hits.

I love 'Needles & Pins'
Heard The Searchers on SOTS, Radio 2, Saturdays. Suddenly realised, I have all their singles in the loft, with nothing to play them on. I have seen them on stage twice, in their heyday, back in the 60's, as I was quite a fan. I love 'Needles & Pins'. So, thinks I, lets interrigate Amazon and see what transpires. Well, fellow Searchers fans, there are lots of Searchers CD's listed, so take yer pick, like I did. I chose this CD, after much agonising over reviewers notes, an I'm very glad I did. It is a superb collection, all original recordings, unlike a lot of CD's out there. Get it if you like the Searchers. You won't regret it.

The Searchers still have it for me
This CD brings back so many happy memories. The production is excellent. The Searchers always did it for me and I was in love with Mike! Their sound still gives me goosebumps and the mixture of songs is spot on. It feels as if they are in the room with me - just them and me! I cannot praise the producer of the CD more. It arrived well in time and I shall use this seller in the future. To any Searchers fan, I thoroughly recommend the purchase of this album. For me personally, it totally enhances my music collection.

One of the best British groups of the day.
I got the Searchers discs as my wife and I really liked them back in the 60s & 70s a really good group, their music was and is second to none.

Brings back lots of memories and enjoy singing along to them. I'd forgotten how good The Searchers were and also how many songs and hits that they had. I can't believe how much I am enjoying this CD and play it all the time in the car. Definitely one for the collection. Enjoy !
