These seem sturdy
I bought these for their specified use, but then I needed one for something else. I had a sliding door I had to keep in place so 2 puppies couldn't escape, using one of these worked great, but now I need another set!

Love them!
I built a removable wall with storage to hide my water heater in my log cabin bathroom, painted them with matte black spray paint and used with a 2x4 to hold the removable wall in, love the rustic look! Supplied screws worked just fine for my application, very sturdy

VERY SECURE WITH PROPER SIZED BOLTS
Probably because other reviewers complained about insufficient wimpy screws, my brackets arrived with good strong screws which are the proper screws for the job. I screwed the brackets into the 2X4 wall studs on either side of the door frame, dropped in a sturdy 2x4 that extends well beyond the door frame on each side for good security. There is no way that door is getting kicked in (if it's even possible) without making one heckuva lot of noise.

Good brackets, cheap screws
I bought this for a backyard gate that I wanted to put a 2x4 across for extra security. These brackets work great for that. I didn't have a problem with the screw hole size like some other reviews mentioned. I thought they were large enough for my purposes. The screws themselves are cheap though. I broke the head off one during the installation. I highly recommend going to the hardware store and picking up better quality screws. Other than that, it's a good product.

Perfect fit
I have a double fence gate and when the wind really blows it often jiggles the latch which lets the gate open and then the dogs can sneak out. With this and a 2x4 the gate is a lot more secure.

Does what it says
Simple product, does what it says it does. Before purchasing, I read the other posts and so bought my own 2 1/2” scews (#8). These brackets come with 1 1/2” screws, but you want the extra length to hold up if someone does try to break down the door (the bracket itself is strong). Picked up a box of 50. While you’re at it, replace the screws for your locks with the longer screws, again, for extra strength. My locks had short screws.

Throw away the screws
Light but thick enough to do the job. Will hold a 2x4 just fine. How can you screw this up?, include junk screw bolts. I snapped two off with not a lot of pressure, both broke in the same place. Problem becomes getting the broken part out, so I left it in and got a thinner diameter tapcon. I may end up removing all of them and replacing them with stronger ones.

Excellent Brackets
Excellent brackets, well engineered. Simple to install.Screws provided were satisfactory; however, I found that the Simpson #8 x 1 1/4" strong drive screws were easier to use and were more effective for installation. No problem in recommending these brackets.
