Is there Magic in the world? A question that is answered in the story of Anya’s life, a life that unfolds in a gripping tail about human relations, emotions and how things in life can’t be planned. Magic tells a story with interesting twists, recognizable emotions and characters that feel like I know them now.In the story Anya has to deal with her life, the choices she makes and the ones that are made for her. Anya has a strong urge to escape, to magically fly away.The book is crisp and beautifully written by Chantal Spies and dragged me into the story chapter after chapter. If magic is to be found in the ‘ordinary’ things in our lives, reading this book was magic.

Magic is all around-you need a fresh pair of eyes, and a little background music. The story begins with Anya and her long time friend, Eduard buying ice lollies and behaving as ten year old children behave. Throughout the book we get to watch them grow and have growing pains as friends, until one night the circus comes to town. Anya meets the lion tamer, Bjorn and falls magically in love. But her Mom leaves home and Anya's whole world becomes different. Too grown up too fast and not the way she plans. Anya begins to make choices based on safety instead of dreams and no matter how hard she looks she can't find joy in her world. 15 years later the circus returns and Anya make choices that aren't easy to find her happy. In doing so she discovers living in the past and preparing for the future do nor create the magic she is longing for. She discovers living for today contains all the magic she needs to be happy.

Magic is a heart-warming story of a girl who, as a result of unforeseen circumstances, got trapped in an unfulfilling existence and a loveless marriage.The storyline is intriguing and true to life, and has a few surprising turns.Chantal's writing style is crisp and fresh and her characters are based on real life persons.Truely a genuine inspiring and memorable story.

Stunning read that made me laugh and cry! Beautiful details that allows your imagination to run wild. I am already waiting for the next book ...
