Great Value N'espresso Machine makes Great Coffee
Very easy to set up and easy to use. I did some research beforehand and checked several different outlets before ordering through Amazon (Tesco do stock the same machine but it's much more expensive). I consider this machine to be even better value as they include a nice Taster Box of 9 different varieties of coffee pods to sample although a minor moan - why isn't a decaff pod included ? The machine itself is good quality (made by Philips - a long established trusted legacy brand) although I have my concerns that the plastic release handle/flap/locking lever to insert new pods does feel like it won't put up with masses of wear and could become slack or even brittle at some point but only time will tell on this. Overall excellent machine, very good value for money and delicious coffee in only a few minutes - what's not to like. I use Tesco Finest Non Decaf Original N'espresso Pods and was able to buy a box of 10 L'or Decaf Pods in Tesco for less than Tesco's own Finest Brand. Also the used Pod Reservoir/Storage box where the pods get ejected to after use is big enough that I only need to empty it once a week. All in all very little to complain about Highly Recommended great coffee machine for the money l.

Super value for money
I bought this coffee maker for myself after staying in an Air B&B which had a small Nespresso machine. I’m so glad I did my research and read reviews as my wife and I found the Nespresso coffee maker made coffee that was warm and not hot. As the price of Phillips was only £60.00 for the red one it was a no brainer as we couldn’t find one close to the price. I can’t tell you enough how happy I am with this machine. Well built, sturdy and where you insert the capsules has been well engineered to last, so much better than the Nespresso. It came with Lor capsules which I haven’t used yet as we bought capsules from Lidls which are a lot cheaper and taste great. The machine is very easy to use and comes with easy to follow instructions visual instructions. The coffee comes out piping hot and it’s quiet too. It’s slim enough to fit easily in our small kitchen and I love the fact that the water reservoir can be fully removed to fill. It takes both large and standard original capsules with as I mentioned are freely available in supermarkets and online. It is definitely a machine that I feel is super valve for money and I would be still happy if I paid double the cost of the unit 😊👍

Decent budget machine
As a middle-aged coffee enthusiast who enjoys the convenience of at-home brewing, the PHILIPS L'OR Barista Sublime Capsule Coffee Machine has been a fantastic addition to my kitchen. Its sleek black design fits well with my modern décor, and its functionality ensures I get my caffeine fix just the way I like it. One of the features that stands out is its capability to brew double shots and make either one or two cups of coffee at a time. This is perfect for those busy mornings when I need a quick, strong cup of coffee or when I have guests over and want to serve multiple cups efficiently. The flexibility to choose between a single or double shot allows me to customize my coffee strength, which is a big plus. The machine’s full coffee menu offers a variety of options, from espresso to lungo, making it versatile enough to cater to different tastes and preferences. The L'OR Barista Sublime uses L'OR and Nespresso-compatible capsules, providing a wide range of flavors and blends to explore. This compatibility is a huge advantage as it doesn't lock me into a single brand of capsules. The brewing process is straightforward and quick. The machine heats up rapidly, and the intuitive controls make it easy to select my preferred coffee style. The quality of the coffee it produces is excellent, with rich, full-bodied flavor and a smooth crema on top, rivaling the coffee I get from my favorite café. Cleaning and maintenance are hassle-free. The drip tray and capsule container are easy to remove and clean, and the machine has a descaling alert to ensure it stays in top condition. This ease of maintenance means I spend more time enjoying my coffee and less time worrying about upkeep. The compact size of the PHILIPS L'OR Barista Sublime is another advantage. It doesn’t take up much counter space, making it ideal for kitchens with limited space. Despite its compact design, it has a decent water tank capacity, so I don’t need to refill it frequently. In summary, the PHILIPS L'OR Barista Sublime Capsule Coffee Machine combines style, convenience, and versatility. Its ability to brew double shots and make multiple types of coffee makes it a standout choice for coffee lovers who appreciate quality and efficiency in their home brewing setup.

Lovely bit of kit
Great looking machine works well a little bit noisy but they all are and the thing I like about it best is it dispenses the empty pod into little tray underneath inside which is good. So basically it was worth worth the money and a good machine that’s more than what I can say about Amazon’s customer services who’ve messed me about told me lies made excuses and just totally disgusted me, well to be honest stay lost or spending two or £300 every month of them once I’ve got everything sorted out deliveries and sending things back, I’m gonna cancel my account in my prime video account

A steal
My only comparison is with the Nespresso Inissia -- the basic Nespresso machine -- so bear that in mind. At £49 against a recommended retail price of £109.99 this is an absolute steal. (Yes, I KNOW all about online discounting, but I still thought it worth mentioning.) Previously I had two Nespresso Inissia machines, and they lasted an average of just three years each. I think I was unlucky, but even so... I've had my L'OR machine only a couple of days, and already I love it. Excellent coffee, good design, simple to use. Just a couple of points by way of clarification rather than criticism: 1. There are two nozzles. Put your mug in the middle, because the coffee comes from both. They're useful if you have a guest: put one mug under each nozzle. 2. If, like me, you're the geekish sort who measures the amount of water needed, you may find that the pouring terminates in the flashing of whichever button you've pressed. This is said to indicate that you're out of water, but it also happens when there's only a little left in the reservoir, so put in some extra. I don't know how long this machine will be selling at £49, so I'd grab one fast.

Great coffee machine and reasonable price
I love it! Got it in the prime day deal for 49.99! Chuffed! Mine arrived in perfect condition and they also include a box of 9 different capsules to try. Easy to set up. Coffee takes about 30 seconds to make (an espresso). Also tried the lungo with the big pods and these make basically a normal size cup of coffee which is good. The coffee pods taste really rich and flavorsome so much so that I bought a load more different L'Or ones on their website. The machine also comes with a £20 off £50 for the L'Or website once you register your machine on their website plus they have other discounts. Worked out really well, ended up ordering 120 pods for about 28 quid of different flavours making it about 23p a pod. Seen a few reviews about it breaking less than a year after but obviously I cannot comment on that as of yet as mine works perfectly at the moment. So excited! 😊 P.s it takes other brand pods and Nespresso pods too (the normal ones). Already tried with some decaf lavazza ones and they worked fine too.

very disappointing
what you need to know: you will lose unpierced but crushed pods. 3 out of my first ten were wasted. One was just squashed- with water pouring out into the cup. The temperature of the coffee immediately out of the machine in the cup was about 50c. Should be a minimum 60c with anything like espresso. The coffee comes out very watery looking. All this using the least water ristresso setting. No idea what the bar pressure is but it can't be high? It's only warm. The supplied L'Or pods are awful. single ones are pointlessly weak and doubles add only bitterness-very unpleasant. I tried a Lavazza pod which was a marginal improvement. Perhaps branded Nespresso ones might be better. I suppose on reflection I should have known better. My proper espresso machine died and I thought this would be an acceptable temporary fix while researching and purchasing another proper machine. But of course there's no logic to that. These single pods may contain 5, possibly up to 7g of ground coffee. The XL L'Or ones possibly 10g. A double espresso shot- aa standard measure- uses 18g of coffee. I understand there are trade offs for convenience and this is not an expensive machine at all- considering basic home 'real' espresso machine is going to cost you at least a couple of hundred pounds. But this is not coffee at all. You may experience the buzz of a coffee shot, but the subtitles of flavour and aroma of a well pulled actual coffee (note- most shops are lazy and useless and have only expensive machines to give them the edge- you can do much better at home with some care and easily developed skill) are another level entirely. a good coffee to start the day is a very precious joy. This won't provide it, sorry. perhaps more expensive pod machines would do better. It's not a journey I'll be going on....

Not as good as fresh ground but pretty good and so convenient.
After decades of using bean to cup machines, which were expensive and had a limited life span, we have switched to Nespresso style. With many choices of capsules we are working thorugh many varieties so we can find what best suits our taste. The quality of the brew is quite good and we are enjoying many of the varieties avilable. The convenience and ease of keeping clean, are outstanding.

Disgusted by Philips
This coffee machine started leaking from the top mount as shown in the video after 2 weeks from purchase. This has caused build up of organic matter within its body where it can't be cleaned. We now have fruit flies flying around it and larvae breeding into the coffee machine. It's frankly disgusting. The worst part is that customer service (an Irish number) tells me that there is no customer support in the country hence they can't help in any way. Beware before buying.
