This was an impulse buy. These black walnuts looked intriguing and I thought they would be a nice addition to my mixed nut bowl. As the name suggests, they certainly have darker shells than regular walnuts (in the photo, you can see some black walnuts with other nuts in the bowl). They are VERY HARD to crack compared to other nuts. The flavor is quite interesting, sort of like a walnut soaked in scotch! I have had them baked in various products before but never just ate one plain. Really good but may be an acquired taste for some people. I’m very happy with them!

Fresh and delicious with excellent flavor
These are high quality and fresh. I've ordered some of these before from a different vendor and some of the nuts where dried out. Not the case with these, I am really enjoying them. I use the macadamia nut cracker to open them. I love the unique flavor of back walnuts.

THE ONLY WAY TO AVOID BITING INTO A RANCID BLACK WALNUT.
GREAT TASTING PRODUCT. ONLY A COUPLE WERE BAD. HAVING GROWN UP WITH A BLACK WALNUT TREE IN THE FRONT YARD, THAT IS EXCEPTIONAL. NO WAY WILL I EVER BUY BLACK WALNUT PIECES AGAIN. THE OTHER GREAT THING IS THAT A BAD BLACK WALNUT IS EASY TO IDENTIFY BY SIGHT.
