My kid and I do many lawns weekly, I was afraid to use anything but the Black & Decker replacement schools because of all the bad reviews. We’ve been using this now for two spools and it has not jammed, nor have we had any problems whatsoever. It’s lasted just as long as the Black & Decker brand, which in previous reviews somebody stated it did not. It’s the exact same thing there’s no need to spend double the price on Black & Decker. I hope this helps your purchasing decision. I’m extremely cheap so this price is great for me but if it didn’t work the exact same way I would not re-purchase, But like I said it works exact same and I’m glad I bought it.

I do not buy a lot of string for my B&D string trimmer but just went to buy more and the name brand stuff was like $17 for 2 spools! So I started looking and found this great alternative for under $10 for 2 rolls.Right off I liked it because instead of blister packaging that I had to wrestle with to get it out, this came in a nifty little box. Awesome. Each roll is covered with tape just like the name brand and the end was held in a little hole. Still you have to be careful when you take the tape off that it does not unwind. Mine did not but I saw another reviewer who said that happened to him. I think this can happen with either brand as I had it happen on a B&D one once.Besides the plastic being sort of dark grey instead of black these spools looked identical to my old spools. It was just as easy as the name brand to install, and I am ready to go.This string performs the same as the name brand so from now on I will be buying this. I ordered this expecting it to be inferior to the real OEM spool  BLACK+DECKER AF-100-3ZP 30ft 0.065" Line String Trimmer Replacement Spool, 3-Pack . The price for the OEm recently went up so i decided to give this a shot. I almost returned it right away because I accidently let go of the end of the line and it totally unspooled. Once I calmed down, I grabbed a second spool and this time i held on to the end of the line and made sure to feed it through the hold of my trimmer before I let go. Still cautiously optimistic, I went out started edging my lawn. Well, it works just as good as the OEm as far as the feeeding mechanism. It fed our line eveytime i pressed my feed button. But the line worked much better than OEM. It seems like it is a little thicker than the OEM line and doesn't wear out as fast. So this is a double win. It is cheaper and it the line lasts longer. I will never buy another OEM sppol from Black and Decker again after testing this out. I will only buy this going forward!

Yep the inner half of the spool starts to jam up and you have to manually take out the spool and pull out 12-18 inches of line to get you going. Too frustrating after the 10th time every minute. Will NOT purchase these again despite the screaming deal. They need to wind the inner part of the spool easier or use some sortof lubricant. I have worked in plastics before and I can say that these have a manufacturing defect. It may be that these were rejects from an "a" grade lot that have been boxed for a few years then rebranded. These may have sat in shipping containers for years at 120 degrees and basically degraded. There's a lot of ways that a product can get rejected and these are them. These guys need to man up and either recycle the lot or toss them.

I bought a B&D weed whacker with a 3 pack string replacement last year. The whole summer I fought with the string, having to keep opening it up and messing with it every few minutes. It was also breaking off completely before I could even finish my yard I went through 4 B&D line string spools last summer. Today with this new line spool I was able to do my whole yard with only one adjustment needed in the beginning. Excellent! I'm actually in shock.

Why only three stars when the "features" are all five?? I ordered two sets of three spools each. They arrived with 4 of the 6 spools already unwinding... you order these so that you don't have to rewind. I returned them and asked for replacements. The replacements came and 2 of the 6 were already unwinding. Kept these and will rewind the 2. Disappointing!

Had a B&D Grass Hog and had it for ten years. Would have problems with the line only feeding out a few inches and or wouldn't feed at all. Was using B&D line with it but I guess the auto feed was worn out. Tried the line that Walmart sells but just made problem worse as the line is not wound correctly. You get what you pay for! Anyway got the B&D GH900 and just tried it on my yard the spool feeds fine with the B&D spool the tool came with, but use to be able to do entire area of my home, 3/4 of the way the line ran out so I popped one of these in and saw that the line is wrapped neatly and just had a little problem getting it to feed after about ten feet. Opened the cap and loosened the spoil a little and was able to finish the rest of my yard. Still have a couple of the walmart spools and will give them a try before giving up on them altogether. I think I went through the spool so fast as the feed is better with the new weed eater compared with the older one.

I got this instead of B&D string which was more expensive...just put in my first spool last week without any problem.

I bought these trimmer line spools to replace the original that came with my low-end Black & Decker electric (corded) trimmer. As you can tell from the previous sentence, I'm a cheap SOB (I mean, who still buys plug-in trimmers in 2018??). So, I didn't want to spend a lot of coin replacing the consumable part of the equipment. Saw this item and it seemed to be what I needed at a pretty good price. I was a bit skeptical it would work, but my reluctance was unfounded. When the thing arrived, I installed it in my trimmer (good fit), closed my eyes (my version of safety glasses) and turned it on. Worked just fine, just as good as the original that came with my trimmer. I said in the headline that these spools feel cheap, and I'm not sure why (maybe the plastic is bit softer?) but I guess they don't have to feel pricey to work good. BTW, the trimmer model I have is the B&D Model # BESTA510 6.5 Amp Trimmer/Edger.

These look, feel. Install and have the identical specs as Black & Decker sells for my battery operated trimmer under its own name for (where I live) $5more than this seller charges for three. You may be able to get even better price per spool. If you’re doing normal trimming jobs, not heavy duty stuff better suited to gas trimmers with blades, these last quite a while.

This line breaks continually - hardly get 5 min.of use & have to stop to reset the feed. I have a large area to trim & this is way too time-consuming & not at all practical. Disappointed! Will be asking for a refund.

Works great! It’s a little less cost effective I’ve then buying the cord and wrapping the trimmer yourself, but it saves so much time and effort. It’s about 30% less cost effective, but worth it very penny in my opinion.

Fast shipping, fit for a lot of models (more than what is in the description ). Great price for three of them. Very satisfied!
