What is the idle current draw

This absolutely works on powering my 19v tv but from a regular car battery with a multimeter hooked up its drains really fast is that normal?

How long are the input/output wire leads?

What gauge are the wires. if the output is 240watts. then the input (12v) should be pushing about 20amps which requires 12awg wire. or am i wrong?
