This journal looks beautiful in pictures. I bought it despite having similar journals because I love the simplicity of the strap that doesn't require winding around and around like a lot of other journals out there. It was also not stingy about the length, and the extra length made it stylish. It looked soft and well cut. In person, the strap is good. But the rest of the body is very stiff; it's glued into what looks like a love child between cardboard and kraft paper, probably to give it some more sturdiness and prevent from flopping around. But to me, this glue + cereal box material totally ruins the soft handfeel of leather, which is the reason I got a leather journal in the first place. I'd rather have leather that's stiff and firm enough to hold its own, or just live with floppy leather that's thickened with an extra sleeve or card slot. It felt like fake leather due to the stiffness, so I returned it. I see that the leather can be very nice, judging by the quality of the strap, so if the seller takes out the cardboard and glue and and adjusts the size to be a true A5, I'd be the first to come back to snatch this up.Oh, and it's narrow. Doesn't quite measure up to the A5 journals that I have.

The description says that it holds 5.5 x 8.5 paper,but the notebook itself is only 5 x 8. This is disappointing because I bought it so I could add custom pages that I print.Overall, it is a really nice product, I just wish it was a little bigger.

Overall, not a bad starting point if you don't want to spend $$ on a travel journal. Leather is soft and very pliable, though it scuffs VERY easily on the outside. (I rather like the worn look so I don't mind at all.) Fits 3-4 inserts pretty comfortably. I didn't like the way it was strung, so I ended up buying elastics and rebound it myself. (I use Midori style elastics, and they work just as well. I think they're a bit easier to use than one long elastic thread, which is what this journal has.) The inside is lined with craft paper, and this journal has one craft paper pocket for little notes or pictures.

I wanted a vintage journal, meaning real leather coverings, lined paper that I could feel good about writing in it and carrying it around. Thankfully I finally found it! This journal is perfect, cute, and has a sturdy leather feel to it that I absolutely love!!First off the packaging was great! The journal was wrapped in a cardboard box that was also wrapped in plastic. As you can see from the photos I took. The protection and package was perfect. Then I touched the journal and it’s incredibly soft, sturdy yet flexible. The bindings along the spine were quite secure and had adorable two metal rustic looking bindings. Each of those bindings hold the paper sections inside.The paper is off-white in color, and has a softer feel then regular paper. Which in turn made it extremely easy to write on creating an easy flow while writing. Yay!! There are three bundles of paper that were bound into the journal's spine.This is a beautiful leather journal that I’m so excited I bought. It’s a perfect size journal to carry around everywhere. I can’t wait to keep writing in it! Love this product!! :)

I'm pretty obsessed with notebooks and very picky about them: this notebook is truly worth the price. Even the non-amazin prime price. It's legit leather. Like, it smells it. The way it's packaged alone, was in all honesty, really promising cause usually I get them in just a bubble wrap envelope, with like scratches or dents on it so to me this automatically rings quality. It's got kind of 3 little dividers, basically 3 separate notebooks, which I like cause then I can organize my thoughts better. Paper is not cheap/thin either so ink is not bleeding through. And it even has a little envelope/baggie at the end which I love cause I can keep my post-its or pen in there. It looks elegant and so retro which is my favorite part! It's got a nice accentuated bead thingy on the side too which I thought was a unique touch too.

Overall a very nice looking leather travel notebook. The only drawback for me is that it is lined with craft paper and the back pocket is also made of craft paper. It does appear to be sturdy however I am unsure how much use abuse it will take simply due to the nature of craft paper material.

I love to travel and write, so everywhere I go I bring a journal to document my experiences and thoughts. However, this is by far the best journal I have owned and also my favorite. I love how classic and unique it is because of the vintage design and the different dimensions inside. It makes traveling easy because its light and durable, but fits easily in my bag. I also love the fact that it has a pocket in the back to hold pens in or extra notes, because I am always losing those. I am so excited to take it with me on all my journeys. This is an amazing journal and overall great product. Would definitely purchase this again!

This leather journal is very simple in its design. But I like it. The leather is of a nice quality, the construction seems very sturdy and the paper is nice for writing in with an old fashioned fountain pen. The size is perfect for travel too.
