ATI Radeon HD 4870 Graphics Upgrade Kit for Apple Mac Pro

Arrived as described, in excellent condition, packed well. Installed & working as expected. Good transaction.

This saved (resurrected, actually) my trusty old MacPro4,1. One day my Mac died. Would not boot at all - just very loud fan noise. On a hunch that it could be the video card, I ordered one of these. Original video card was the same model but with less VRAM. Crossed my fingers and ordered it. Package arrived quickly (a day ahead of estimate), was very well packaged and included basic instructions. Replacement was super easy (the old MacPro design is wonderful, makes it easy to swap most components). Started up the Mac and it booted perfectly. Have been using it for 2 weeks since, not the slightest hiccup, it works fine. Driving two 27" 1920x1080 monitors. Works great, I'm a happy camper. Would buy again from these guys.

I bought this card for an old Mac Pro 2007 2.1 8-core (found on Craigslist for $100) with Mac OSX 10.6.8 to replace a GeForce card with 256MB GDDR3 RAM that came with the computer. The card I received actually registered 1GB GDDR5 RAM, not 512MB. I used it with Photoshop CS5 and Canon and Fuji raw processing programs primarily. While it did speed up the display of photos on the screen and scrolling within a photo in Photoshop became very smooth, it was not as great of a difference as I hoped it would be. Perhaps more 3D-intensive applications will benefit more from this card.After a month, the computer I bought this for gave up the ghost and I sold it for parts. This graphics card I sold later - that took months, and I was lucky to sell it for more than a third of what they sell it for here. I'm not sure it would have been worth it even in the long run to have bought this card.

I bought this to replace the 512MB video card in my old Mac Pro that had failed. This was by far the best deal out there to get my computer back up and running while contemplating a total upgrade. I got instructions via videos on You tube on how to replace it. The packaging was appropriate and it arrived quickly. The one thing that was confusing is that my old graphics card came with a bracket. I decided to go ahead and remove the bracket from the old card and use it on the new one. That helped align the card for installation and made it much easier to handle and not worry about shorting out anything. The card works although it is much noisier than my old card. So it did the trick and was worth the price.

I ordered this graphic card for my Mac Pro (early 2008) because the original graphic card was no longer able to keep up the demands of current software like Apple's Motion or Final Cut Pro. I needed an OpenCL-capable graphics card or Intel HD Graphics 3000 or later. The original ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT couldn't cut the mustard for my current needs. Thus the reason I moved up to the ATI Radeon HD 4870. The card is priced right on Amazon. Other internet dealers were asking almost twice the price. I promptly received my order and installed the card. Worked great for about 4 weeks and then it started acting quirky or glitchy. My computer would unexpectedly shut down while I was engaged in some graphic work. This is unacceptable, to say the least. After a process of elimination that pointed to the new card, I quickly contacted the Legomac Store, the vendor, and they quickly sent me a replacement card. I installed the new card and it's been running great for months now. I would highly recommend the Legomac Store - Amazon Marketplace products because they back their products 100%.

I bought this to put in my early 2008 Mac Pro to get a little more life out of it. I expected the 2 monitor outputs but I was pleasantly surprised that it had one older monitor output as well as the newer version that runs the new Mac Monitors. I have only been using it for a couple weeks but my computer is much quieter and it is running great. I also changed out my RAM at the same time maxing it out to 32 gig that I purchased form a different site.

Excellent!! Got it for a 2006 Mac Pro 1.1. Install was easy and card performs top notch. GPU test scores put it as almost twice as fast as the Radeon 6770 in my 2011 iMac.Still running great two months later.
