I have been using Posey belts all of my career as a physical therapist. I have tried other brands, but I prefer Posey.

Wanted to like it because it can be sanitized easily between patients but it’s hard to close

While this metal buckle is super sturdy, it's not overly easy to put on & tighten up. When compared to a belt with a quick-release buckle, it takes longer to put on -- and it also takes a little longer to remove it. For that reason, we don't use it as much as the cloth FabLife gait belt (with a quick-release buckle) that we also purchased from Amazon.On the other hand, if you're using this gait belt for several different people -- where it has to be constantly adjusted -- this would be a good gait belt to purchase. In addition, the vinyl belt can be easily cleaned (disinfected), and it can be readily cut down to size with a razor knife if you need to make it a little shorter. Unlike a cloth belt, it can't unravel.

Great item

This is similar to the one our PT had in the hospital for my partner's stay. I have more confidence in helping her walk and keep her balance with this belt. I like that it's not cloth so it can easily be sanitized with the wipe of a cloth. It closes tightly and I feel secure that it will stay in place, even when I have to pull from the back to steady her.

The same belt I use as an Acute Care Physical Therapist in the hospital. I bought this one for my grandfather to use in the hospital. Works great and improves safety for my family and caregivers when showering my grandfather

The buckle isn’t as easy to use as the typical metal toothed clasp, but this gets the job done and can be sanitized between patients, which is the most important!
